Viola Davis Nears Deal To Play 'Amanda Waller' In SUICIDE SQUAD And Multiple DC Movies

We heard from The Help actress earlier this week, but now a new report says Viola Davis is near closing a deal to play "The Wall" not only in Suicide Squad, but also other DC Comics films that follow!

Viola Davis had confirmed herself earlier this week that she was working out her schedule to play Amanda Warner in David Ayer's Suicide Squad adaptation, but now The Wrap has learned that the two-time Oscar-nominated actress is near signing the dotted line. While her commitments to ABC's How to Get Away with Murder series have made negotiations "tricky," the source suggests that things are expected to be finalized in the coming weeks; especially given Will Smith, who plays Deadshot in the film, "personally lobbied for Warner Bros. to do whatever it takes to cast Davis." Anyway, the other intriguing, yet highly-expected, tidbit from the casting report is that Viola Davis will have a multi-picture contract that will allow her to portray "The Wall" in other DC Comics movies; most likely the two-part Justice League flicks. So, basically Amanda Waller may end up being the Nick Fury of DC's Cinematic Universe, which was among other things Warner Bros. attempted with Green Lantern in which Angela Bassett played the character. What do you think?

Amanda Waller is no Nick Fury of the DC Universe. She is Amanda Waller of the DC Universe. Will not be going around trying to form a Justice League as per Nick Fury luckily formed the Avengers.

Anyone with the name CCH Pounder shouldn't have a role in this film.

Viola Davis will kill this role and be a better universe holder than Nick Fury, who is literally just Sam Jackson playing himself.

On the one hand, I love how Will Smith demanded she be in this movie. Best woman for the job as far as I'm concerned. On the other hand, I don't want to see either of his kids in DC projects.

Amanda Waller is so much greater than Nick Fury. She would shoot him, take over shield, take over HYDRA, and then allow HYDRA to take over the world while she arranged shield to rebuild underneigh HYDRA
