Earlier this week, Will Smith celebrated his 50th birthday by doing a bungee jump at the Grand Canyon. With work starting in earnest on Birds of Prey, Warner Bros.has put Suicide Squad 2 on the backburner for now and there's obviously a lot of discussions about which characters that movie will involve and what's in store for the fan-favourite Deadshot (along with Margot Robbie, Smith was among the only actors praised for his role in Suicide Squad and talks of a spinoff for him started almost immediately).
During a Q&A before that jump, Smith was asked a number of questions submitted online by fans and one was in regards to a Deadshot movie. "I hope so," he said. "I love playing Deadshot, I've really enjoyed that character. They've been talking about it, so if a good idea comes around... we've been having meetings. But I'd love to. I love Deadshot." That's vague but it still seems to be on the table.
There's definitely potential for Floyd Lawson to take the spotlight in an adventure of his own but with Warner Bros. refusing to announce a slate of movies as they look to take a wait and see approach to the DC Extended Universe, we could be waiting until after Suicide Squad 2 is released before hearing more.
