The Suicide Squad is fast approaching, and while we're still unsure whether it's a reboot, sequel, or a little bit of both, James Gunn's DC Extended Universe debut promises to be a lot of fun.
It's no secret that Starro is the threat Task Force X is sent to deal with, and while the giant starfish-like alien has typically been portrayed as a Justice League villain, this movie feels like a fitting place for his big screen debut. Up until now, Warner Bros. has been careful to only tease his role with a few brief glimpses, but as we get closer to August 5, more footage is being revealed from the movie.
As a result, we have a TV spot featuring an impossible-to-miss shot of Starro in all his glory!
He looks fantastic, and it seems Gunn has definitely nailed this take on the wacky bad guy.
In related news for The Suicide Squad, Entertainment Weekly recently caught up with Margot Robbie and asked for her thoughts on Harley Quinn's big screen future. Unfortunately, she doesn't seem too sure!
"It was kind of back-to-back filming Birds and filming this, so I was kind of like, oof, I need a break from Harley because she's exhausting," the actress told the site when they spoke last month. "I don't know when we're next going to see her. I'm just as intrigued as everyone else is."
As far as we know, there's nothing on the horizon set in the DCEU that would be a good fit for a character like Harley, but if this movie is a big enough hit, perhaps we'll finally get Gotham City Sirens?
