Recently-appointed DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has confirmed that multiple big and small screen DCU projects are in the works, but fans are arguably most interested to learn what's in store for the Man of Steel.
When Henry Cavill exited the role, Gunn revealed that he's planning a full reboot with a younger take on Superman, which would focus on his early days as a Daily Planet reporter/Metropolis' resident superhero.
A few unsubstantiated rumors aside, we haven't really had much more to go on, but Gunn has now sent speculation into overdrive with his latest social media post.
"The secret to happiness is starting the morning with coffee and comic books," Tweeted the filmmaker, along with a photo of himself reading the Deluxe Edition of All-Star Superman by Grant Morrison, Frank Quitely and Jamie Grant.
When a follower wondered if this was his first time experiencing the acclaimed tale, Gunn replied that he's read it "many, many times."
The Eisner Award-winning comic book hit shelves in 2005, and is still widely viewed as one of the best Superman stories ever told. It's entirely possible that Gunn will take some inspiration for his new take on the Last Son of Krypton... then again, he may simply enjoy some quality reading material with his morning coffee!
Gunn has promised some official announcements regarding the Man of Steel will be coming soon, but casting will not be among them.
