FAN-ticizing: My Man Of Steel Movie Idea

FAN-ticizing: My Man Of Steel Movie Idea

Just my description of how I think the movie "Man of Steel" could work.

This is my first article I've posted on this site.

With the casting of Henry Cavill as Superman, and Michael Shannon as Zod, this movie could possibly break the curse of Superman having bad movies. This is my take on what could be a good Superman movie.

NOTICE: THIS IS JUST A "BULLET POINT DESCRIPTION" OF THE MAIN PLOT LINES IN THE MOVIE. NOTHING SECONDARY, INVOLVING LOIS OR ANYONE ELSE IS MENTIONED, BUT THEY WOULD BE IN THE MOVIE OBVIOUSLY. (Again, only BULLET POINT descriptions, nothing in depth.) Enjoy!

MAN OF STEEL

Battle on Krypton

Zod on the battlefield

Brainiac arrives

Brainiac takes Kandor

Zod asks for help to take on Brainiac and get Kandor back but gets refused. (In the Kryptonian language, with subtitles)

Zod takes his anger out on Jor-El and others

Zod is banished

Jor-El and Lara send Kal-El to Earth

Krypton is destroyed

After the origin story he takes an artifact that gives information on the
universes and Krypton’s alien technology.

He travels the world and questions whether he should reveal himself and become a protector

Clark makes his first save and enjoys it.

He travels north and uses the information from the artifact to build a fortress for him to re-create Krypton’s technology. (His fortress resembles the one from All-Star Superman, not the Donner version)

Major accident makes Clark reveal himself for the first time in the public eye and eventually becomes known as Superman

People are on the fence whether to trust him or not.

Zod, somehow, in a one in a million shot, gets out of where he was banished and shows up on Earth and sees what Superman is doing and learns that he is the son of Jor-El

Zod discovers he has the same abilities as Superman

He creates a Superman-like costume and impersonates Superman and causes terror around the city and world to cause people to fear Superman.

Superman shows up and battles Zod. Since Zod has not yet mastered his abilities like Superman he is defeated and flees.

Zod goes to a secluded area far away from civilization and trains himself hard as he is a general and is relentless in his training.

He reappears in metropolis in his traditional black uniform from Krypton, declares that he will conquer the world and that Superman will not defeat him again.

Superman and Zod begin to battle. Superman tries many times to get Zod away from the city so he can unlash his full strength on him, but he fails.

Being afraid of damaging the city severely he continues to get pounded by Zod.

Superman finally is able to get outside of the city.

He goes berserk on Zod, but Zod is able to get a few good shots in as well.

Superman eventually is able to defeat Zod and takes him back to his fotress.

Before Superman sends Zod back to where he came from, Zod wearily but angrily says all he wanted was help to get back his city, his wife, and his son from Brainiac. And that Brainiac will soon discover this world and take it over as well.

Brainiac becomes aware of the use of Kryptonian technology and discovers it’s from Earth. He observes Earth and desides he wants it.

2nd movie teaser

I think, at the end with Brainiac, He could say something like, "This super being they call 'Superman' seems to be a potential threat. He must be eliminated if success is to be achieved." He then accesses the mainframe and a voice comes over the intercom, "Doomsday project initiated. Destination..............Earth." Then the screen blacks out and the credits role.

NIIIIICE!

I would love this turned into the film.

Why would Zod not have his powers mastered if he is older than Superman?

in my opinion Zod has basically been out of commision inside the Phantom Zone since right before Krypton was destroyed. Due to this he has not been in a position to learn his abilities that the Earth's yellow sun grant him while Clark has had the majority of his life on earth with his powers.

@JatevinM Because Clark has been on Earth his whole life, well almost. And has had time to master them. Zod just arrived and hasn't been on Earth long. Strength wise, Zod would do just fine, but superspeeding and flying might be a problem at first. In superman/batman apocalypse, Kara had trouble harsnessing her powers at first. I just think Zod would do the same when he first arrives. Every time Superman got a new power he had trouble with it until he had time to practice and master it. But again, that's just my opinion.

Great story line. Let me add something on that. How about when Zod came out of the phantom zone, he brings along some prisoners and he would form his own army. Imagine, all Zod's army with all superpowers trying to conquer the world. That is when the US military would help Superman battling each one of them. Zod and his army vs SUperman and US military. Just my thought for a more epic battle.

JDUKE25 - 4/12/2011, 9:23 PM
@mastarockafella thanks. Yeah, I didn't think about that. I just didn't really want Ursa or Non in this movie. If it was just some of his soldiers that were banished with him that would be pretty cool. And yeah, that kind of battle would be tremendous, and I think all of us are overdue on that.

@thedarknight21 thank ya, i just may do that

Maybe with the army helping idea, they learn about the Kryptonite, and use it in their weapons to stun and if necessary to kill the soldiers. And with all that K flying around, Superman and Zod start feeling the effects and take their battle away from the army and city??

Not bad jduke25 but would prefer Brainiac to be actually involved in this and not just sitting back. Perhaps Metallo could be used with Zod and Lex making a partnership and Zod giving Lex the kryptonite who build Metallo for the army something. I just don't want Zod as an only villain. Begins and TDK both had three so I would like Zod, Metallo/Brainiac and Lex.

and I agree with thedarknight21 you should defo do more of these.

As I said before, this idea was used for Smallville season 9 and Superman: the animated series The Last Son of Krypton. Nothing new, original or unique about it. I wish WB would have allowed that asshole Millar to develope his Last Man On Earth concept for Superman.

Those are some nice ideas for a EPIC Superman movie. But Doomsday should be left for sequels down the line. Otherwise, it's good.

@BlackPanther717: lol..the military thing just popped out of my head. I remember some article about Snyder preferred to shoot in chicago instead of canada because of tanks and all those military stuff.

Brianiac and Doomsday for the second movie and Darkseid for the final movie.
JDUKE25
JDUKE25 - 4/13/2011, 3:45 PM
@George thanks, yeah I would love Brainiac to be the focal point as the villain, but since Zod has been announced I'm just thinking of a story using him. And a lot of people want to see Brainiac in it, including me, so i'm just trying to think of a way to work him in there.

@TheLight Thanks. Well Doomsday would be in the sequel, at the very end of the first movie it would just show Brainiac seeing the Superman could be a problem with his plan, so he would obtain Doomsday and plan to send him to Earth and take care of Superman. Thats all that would be mentioned of Doomsday. This just shows what to expect in the second movie.

@fangz yeah Luthor would be introduced whenever Clark goes to Metropolis and I think maybe making a reference to him somehow when Clark is traveling around the world would be good too. But Luthor would play a very minimal role in the movie.

1) Who is the Battle on Krypton between, and why is Zod on a battlefield, before Brainiac arrives?
2) Why does Zod want the public to mistrust Superman if he's just going to conquer the whole world anyway?
3) What else is happening while Zod retreats to train?
Facade
Facade - 4/14/2011, 3:50 AM
@mainstream To answer those questions the film would be 3 hrs long with only an hour and a half devoted to Superman.
