After years of rumors and speculation, Henry Cavill finally returned as Superman in Black Adam's mid-credits scene, and is reportedly set to play a major role in the DCU moving forward.
Amy Adams debuted as Lois Lane alongside Cavill in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel before going on to appear in Batman V Superman and Justice League, but will she be joining her MOS costar in this new era of DC-based movies?
Adams was asked that very question while speaking to Variety about her new movie, Disenchanted.
The Academy Award-nominee shared her excitement for Cavill's return, but revealed that she hasn't been contacted about reprising the role of Lois Lane. It sounds like she would be open to the possibility, but says she'll support "whatever direction they go" if another actress was to step in to play the character.
There's always a chance Adams has been in touch with Warner Bros./DC Studios about a potential return as the intrepid Daily Planet reporter and is simply not at liberty to divulge that information. After all, Lois Lane is always going to be a vital part of pretty much any Superman story, and it's difficult to imagine them bringing Cavill back without Adams.
That said, quite a few fans have complained about a perceived lack of chemistry between Cavill and Adams over the years, and it's probably fair to say that her take on Lois has proved to be divisive overall.
