I am – Hercules over at AICN is reporting that a source calling him/herself “Yoda’s Bitch,” sent them a scoop about a possible Smallville Tv movie.

He/she is claiming to have gotten a glimpse of some signage being prepared for next month’s “Smallville” presentation at Comic-Con...

"On black, with crimson/red text in the same font lettering that Smallville uses, and a transparent grey Superman "S" watermark behind the text:

METROPOLIS

CHRISTMAS 2010

Then at the bottom is a banner advertising the Smallville presentation, with the time/place (can't remember)."

I know its all very vague and could possibly be a load of old Devastator's balls*, but AICN are saying it comes with a few bits of convincing detail they are not sharing with us. Im sure that will only be a matter of time!

Anyway, if its true its great news for all of you Smallville fans i have heard numerous times say you wished they would call the show Metropolis now...it didn't happen until the show was over but what are ya gonna do!

if they had a good enough budget it could work but isnt it bad enough that Smallville lets me down each week on TV-i dont wanna be let down in the cinema as well! A 40min episode where Clark doesnt throw a punch is bad enough but a 2hr movie-thats a worse idea than Jason Lewis playing Captain America!!

Actually i just looked it up on imdb.com and it shows metropolis 2010 but dont have no info on it yet. So who knows its possible.

If it has a bigger budget, amps up the action, gets better writers, actually has Welling in costume, I think that it would do well as a TV movie. Since we are going to be waiting a while to get a big screen movie hopefully they will focus a lot of energy on this project (if its true) and take advantage of it.

The only just way to conclude the series with out a mild cliffhanger. I am so for this TV movie. As a proper send off to the show.

This is clearly the finale of the show. They will end it next year which will be may 2010. Then they will have this movie the following December which will conclude the series and have welling In costume flying etc....

Man I wish they would make a Batman beyond series cuz we all know it will never make it to a theater any time soon (next 7 to 10 years)

Twist the story a little...
retired batman tries to find the murder of knight wing Knight wings son finds out what his pops do at knight and it reflects Bruces past and run with it.

It would have to have like a Battlestar Galactica CGI team... might have to be a cable show since they dont need super high ratings.

Maybe Metropolis will move up from a TV film to a cinematic film and the great Smallville version of the characters will replace those hokey versions of the characters from that horrid Superman Returns garbage. Tom Welling as Superman and Michael Rosenbaum as a Lex Luthor, who isn't a joke with some stupid campy scheme, would make a great movie.

Tom is the best superman yet! But I hear he wont wear the long underwear! Shirtless no problem but cape and tights big problem. I wish he would just buck up! His fans have been waiting for the cape for almost 9 years! I just hope he doesn't go down as the only superman to not wear the Costume. Fans would freak out with joy if he actually became SUPERMAN.

HELLS TO THE MOTHER F@CKING YEAH! I read this article this morning and I can only hope that this is true cause even if it is the end of the show it would be cool to finally see Tom in the suit and have Rosenbaum come back as Lex. It would be even Better if this was a film to be in theaters.

Hate to burst your bubble, but there is not going to be a Smallville movie. It is a remake of Fritz Lang's Metropolis (1927).
