Amanda Waller last seen employing Cameron Mahkent (the second Icicle) as a Black Pawn, that begun tracking down and killing members of the Justice Society of America in "Absolute Justice," is now back again to stir more trouble for good old Clark and co.

















"Checkmate" airs on April 9 on the CW Network.

It would be great if Clark stopped shopping at the same store as Frank Castle and the rest of the cast from the Matrix. WTF are they thinking? This look couldn't be less like Supes if he was wearing a freaking dress!!!!!

I was hoping Checkmate would be a cool episode, but if all we get is Amanda waller then thats kind of lame.

Hopefully we at least get Rick Flag and bronze Tiger. She said she was assembling Suicide Squad and those are the two most prominent members. I doubt we'll ever see Deadshot.

@Leee - I agree. I'm not a HUGE fan of the trenchcoat, but I understand what they are doing. As fanboys, we ALL want to see the suit! But once it happens, he IS Superman, and the show is not designed to be Superman, it's designed to be Kal-El's journey to BECOMING Superman. The long trenchcoat is similar in length to the cape, AND he's got the fracking symbol on his chest! Come on, at least it ain't the red jacket anymore!

Smallville is gonna go out strong, no more weak Doomsday type characters...I hope they lead to Darkseid, tease it, maybe even show his face....BUT I don't want to see much of him, leave it to our imagination. (There's only so much you can do with tv budgets!)

His 10 year old journey to becoming Superman? He was a freshman in high school when the show started. That means he is his mid twenties by now. How much longer do we have to put up with it? Do they really think they will loose part of their audience because of the suit? We all know that season 10 will be the last. Why not just do it and get it over with? What do they have to loose at this point?

@McLovin - I agree with it being the last season, we MAY finally see it. But yes...just like in Lois and Clark, the big thing they built up to was them getting married. When they did, show tanked. This show is ONLY about Superman, before he's Superman. So, yeah, I think if in season 4 he became the hero we know he is meant to be, we would be here talking about season 10.

Suit doesn't bother me. But the FLYING....yes, that and the glasses bother me a lot...

McLovin@ there are many series on TV that go on for years, but the actual timeline on the show is much less than that. You can't relate real years to the story line years. If you do, soap operas would be all messed up. In their case I have never seen kids age so fast in my life.

Why do hard core Smallville fans get so fired up when there is clearly a group just as big if not bigger that doesn't like the show. There is no hatred towards any CBM user so calm the hell down. Get over yourself and give crap back. I believe that is what the comments section is for. If you want to bathe in the drab glow of Tom Wellings eyes and praise this high school play without a differing opinion, go to Kryptonsite.

He's definitely not Frank Castle. Clark's supposed to be an investigative reporter. A Sherlock Holmes coat would make more sense.
