Freaky Batman's Review of Superman/Batman: Public Enemies

I know there have been many reviews, but most of them have been positive. I want a more realistic review of the movie.............

"Superman/Batman: Public Enemies" was a very good idea for Warner Brothers to make a new animated movie out of a popular series/graphic novel--a personal favorite of mine and on of the few Jeph Loeb stories that I like. The animation was very good in comparison with Ed Mcguiness' artwork. The voices were amazing besides for Toy Man. It is always good to have Kevin Conroy back as Batman. Additionally, Tim Daly was very good in his return as Superman.

Now to the story: the movie had most of the major plot points. Unfortunately, my favorite part of the story arc was left out. That part's being when all of the sidekicks broke into the White House and looked for the data as well as attacked Lex.

The fight scenes in this movie were perfect. Every major part was there, Shiva, the cold people, Grundy, Mongul, Grodd, and everyone.

All in all this was an amazing Warner Brothers animated movie, my personal favorite of the bunch so far.

93/100.

Nice review freakybatman..

Just to clarify.. Tim Daly (the voice of Superman in Public Enemies) was actually Superman in the animated series way back in the 90s.. He just never did Justice League..

Well, I wasn't that impressed with PE. I don't know the comic it's based on, but this movie seems just way too short. Hell, it definitely IS too short, regardless of the scource material.
I really did not like the animation. Maybe that's because I'm used to the classic DCAU style (which I love), but it just didn't feel right. I HATED what they made of Amanda Waller, she looks just ridiculous.
The fight scenes were nice, mostly, but there was much fighting all time it felt too much for me.
Conroy as Batman and Brown as Luthor have been some of my favourites in the old animated series, it was nice to see Daly back as Supes, but even they didn't manage to make this enjoyable for.
What pretty much ruined it for me was the ending with the giant robot. "Wow!" I was more like, "Wow, stupid!?". Not only the design of the robot (yeah, a crazy genius teenager built it, but come on, was that really necessary?), but the way Batman stopped the meteor with the robot AND survived the crash AND was rescued by Superman who had no problem entering a part of the space which was full of [frick]ing Kryptonite.

Ah well, glad you enjoyed it! I really am! :-)

the robot is a bit gimicky, but it's straight from the source. I've said it before but it bears repeating the comic was kinda campy so the movie plays on that.
I agree that the part with the bat and sup's extended family attack on the white house was fun in the comic however since most of them have never appeared in the DCAU it would have been confusing to add them.

It was a thoroughly entertaining romp! Was there any goofy part? Sure. But that's part of the genre. It was engaging start to finish. My only negative is, as stated above, it's too short. There could have been a lot more, but they want to stick to the format. Tim Daly is great alongside Conroy. And the subtle reference to Superman's death was a great touch. In all, it's worth owning. Only one more problem: the rental had no special features. Crazy!
