RUMOR: Intriguing Logline For The DCU's Live-Action TEEN TITANS Movie Surfaces

A new logline for James Gunn and Peter Safran's Teen Titans movie has surfaced which asserts that it will be Damian Wayne who brings a disbanded Titans team back together.

Some intriguing new intel on the DCU's recently announced Teen Titans movie has just surfaced recently from Batman-News, via Production Weekly.

A logline for the film has surfaced which reads:

The Teen Titans are further apart than ever before…until Damian Wayne recruits Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy and the new Kid Flash to join him in a fight against his own grandfather, Ra’s al Ghul.

If you're unfamiliar with Production Weekly and their loglines, Production Weekly (often abbreviated as PW), is a subscription-based publication with an emphasis on the film and television sector. It serves as a premier resource for keeping tabs on new motion picture and television productions.

Production Weekly functions as a valuable resource for crew workers, suppliers, and other auxiliary workers in the industry who want to keep abreast of what's coming down the pipeline and maybe even pitch their services for upcoming projects.

One of the key items that Production Weekly offers is an extensive database on upcoming film projects, which includes a logline, a succinct (one to two sentence) synopsis that captures the essence of the narrative of a film.

In terms of the Teen Titans film, it sounds as if the film might be taking inspiration from the 2016 DC Rebirth run of Teen Titans from Benjamin Percy  and Jonboy Meyers.

In that run, Damian Wayne is out to prove himself to both his father and grandfather- that he's capable of inheriting the legacy of The Dark Knight and that he's nothing like his grandfather, Ra's al Ghul.

Things kick off with Ra's sending Damian a message on his birthday, that a new crop of recruits for The League of Assassins has just graduated and that they've been sent out to kill the next generation of superheroes as a test of their skills.

The series becomes a competition between Damian and Ra's to see if the former has really shed his killer ways and become a hero like his father.

Longtime Teen Titan comic book readers and fans of the animated series are already up in arms about the fact that it sounds as if the film could skip the Dick Grayson era of the team and that the logline makes no mention of Cyborg.

We should caution that the loglines for films on Production Weekly are not always 100% accurate so put this one in the rumor category for now.

However, with DC Studios co-chair James Gunn's penchant for debunking rumors expect him to weigh in soon if this is false. Likewise, if he remains silent, then there's probably some element of truth to the logline.

I want a Teen Titans movie so bad, but it also feels like Gunn is greenlighting a shit ton of stuff to the point where who knows if and when some happen. And I wonder if there is a building to "something" (like Phase 1 Marvel was building to Avengers).

I honestly expected him to be more reserved with development given DC's messy cinematic history recently; even with the stuff he himself has confirmed. But, if its all being planned and prepped accordingly, then go for it.

@GhostDog - He hasn’t really formally announced that much but I get ya…

He has said that Lanterns will tie into the overarching story in the DCU since they are investigating something that leads to that so I think it is building to something though not sure if it’s just Phase 1 or down the line.

Interesting. Sooooo we'll get a Teen Titans movie BEFORE a proper JL movie. I am not a fan of this, but i'm sure some will be. I'm at the point where i think either Gunn is a mad genius and has something he's building towards that will be great... or he's just trying to find something that is popular now and will make some money... not sure where he's going tbh... and maybe even he doesn't

@MotherGooseUPus - Im on board with not doing another Justice League until you cant get it right. Don't rush it like last time just to keep up with the MCU

@krayzeman - Looks like instead of rushing it, they're rushing right by it.

With the way the source is backed up in this article, I actually might believe this. Do hope it's Bart Allen as Kid Flash though.

I kinda like it being Damian Wayne too. Already had enough Dick Grayson ij other Titans projects. And I liked his relationship with Raven in Apokalips War too.

@bkmeijer1 - plus , I could see Dick being on the team

Gunn has said we’ll get atleast some of The Bat Family in Brave and The Bold so it would make sense to have him here too (especially if they bond).

@TheVisionary25 - I could see this movie show characters that served on an earlier version of the team (i.e. Dick and the original sidekicks).

I mean, I'm jit convinced until I see an official announcement and date for this film.

Interesting if true…

Seems like The Teen Titans might have disbanded or atleast are estranged until Damian comes along to pull them back together which could be cool…

Could see them being in their late teens or so while Damian is early like 13 or 14.

Also i for sure thought Ra’s would be the villain in The Brave and The Bold but maybe not , could be Talia.

SRK for Ra’s!!.

Not a fan of almost anything I've read so far about the new DCU movies.

Damian should be left for much much much later movies imo.

Warner/DC only would have to imitate what Marvel successfuly did before and give their movies something that makes them different enough, you just start with origin movies for your bigger characters and if they are successful enough then just build from that.

Origin movies not necessarily mean telling how Bruce Wayne's parents were killed or how Krypton was destroyed, but just don't start with an old Batman and with Damian as Robin, or with a Superman surrounded by tons of relatively unknown superheroes, most people who don't follow the comics will be confused af.

I strongly dislike Damian Wayne. So this version of the TT is not for me.

If this is true I'm surprised gunn is going for a somewhat accurate line up rather than going the obscure route. Bumblebee, Wildebeest, Hot Spot, The Herald etc.

Putting Damian with the Titans now feels like they're cutting his balls off too early.

I’m betting Superman will mention the JL in his movie.

I'm fine with this as long as Starfire isn't still a teen and Nightwing has been established as a former member.
Basically what they did in that Titans vs JL animated movie.

Base it on the Marv Wolfman and George Perez run.
