Latest TMNT 2 Set Pics Provide Our First Look At New 'Shredder' & 'Karai'

Below you can get your first look at Brian Tee as our new Shredder (sans helmet), and Brittany Ishibashi as Karai as they prepare to shoot a scene for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. In TMNT lore, Karai is usually portrayed as either Shredder's daughter or granddaughter, but we're not sure if that'll be the case here as no mention was made of it in the first movie. There's also a snap of (presumably) a masked-up member of the Foot Clan.

The sequel to last year's box office smash also stars Gary Anthony Williams, Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Stephen Amell, Tyler Perry, and Laura Linney, and is currently shooting in New York. TMNT 2 (working title "Half-Shell") will be directed by David Green and produced by Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form. The movie hits June 3rd, 2016.

This is...really weird. It looks like they are giving us an entirely new foot clan. New Shredder, New Karia, New ninja clan. I wonder if they are going to say "Oh, they weren't the real foot clan, they were based off us. We are the REAL foot clan. LOL"

Michael Bay just expects you to buy whatever bullshit he throws out and expects you to buy it. He thinks everyone are a bunch of sheep and will eat up whatever crap he puts out. F Michael Bay and all his shit movies I will never pay for one of his movies again.

I loved the remake. Gripe as you will (which we all will about something), it was fun. As a long-time ninja turtles fan I took issue with plenty of things that were changed with the lore. But then I remembered it's a movie about mutated turtles who love pizza and fight ninjas. Not exactly Oscar-winning material, but can't we love a movie just because it's fun?

I think this is looking like another big fun movie.

Long-time TMNT fan: Well, besides being a cashcow for toys & other merch,
the "lore" is radically different between iterations (comics, tv shows, movies)
so that there's something for someone.

@ManaByte actually I think they just left her on that snowy mountain I don't think she was presumed dead but honestly it looks like this is a soft reboot excluding that version of the char completely and going a different direction

Nice, loving that new look for the Foot Soldiers. Ninjas with swords rather than mercenaries with guns. NOW we're talking. Can't wait for a first look @ Bebop & Rocksteady now :D

This almost seems like a soft reboot. I enjoyed the first for what it was but I have a feeling this will be better

Do you guys think this is a loose sequel to the first TMNT? Kinda like what The Wolverine is to Origins: Wolverine(since, during production, The Wolverine was sometimes referred to as Wolverine 2)?

Not that I'm complaining at all, but it sucks because the first film could have been really, really good and well done but it is a nice film to watch when you want to shut off your brain.

the recast for shredder is fine since it looked like he used some mutagen from the first movie. and i'm fine with the recast with karai since she's a hotter actress but still i hate recasts. and if that's a foot soldier man that is so much better. he looks like he can pass for noob saibot in mortal kombat. really bad ass.
