TMNT: Official Logo And Concept Art For Seth Rogen's CGI Reboot Revealed

Paramount Pictures has shared some official concept art for Seth Rogen's upcoming CGI Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot, giving us a look at the character designs for Leo, Raph, Donnie and Mikey.

We got word back in 2020 that a big-screen CGI Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot was in the works from Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon and Seth Rogen's production company Point Grey Pictures. Updates have been few and far between since, but Paramount has now shared an official title logo and some concept art for the animated movie.

While the logo is reminiscent of the original comic book title treatment, those hoping for a slightly more grown-up take on the Heroes in a Half-Shell might be disappointed by these character designs! Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo all look quite similar to their more kid-friendly Nickelodeon counterparts. Rogen has previously said that he intends to emphasize the "teenage" aspects of the Turtles, which seems evident from these images.

The studio has also announced that this feature will be followed by "a series of villain-driven TMNT films exclusively for Paramount+."

While the teen/coming-of-age elements of the Turtles have obviously been explored in previous incarnations, it's never really been the main focus, so this could prove to be an intriguing approach.

The awesome foursome have starred in several features at this stage, with the most recent being the moderately successful (from a financial standpoint, at least) movies from Paramount and Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes. They previously appeared in animated form in Warner Bros.' 2007 adventure, TMNT. Fans still regard the original 1990 film to be the best of the bunch, however.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be directed by Jeff Rowe (The Mitchells vs. the Machines) and written by Brendan O’Brien (Neighbors). No specific release date has bene set, but it's scheduled to hit theaters sometime next year.

Why do the TMNT movies from the 80’s and 90’s still look better than any TMNT stuff that’s being produced nowadays?

@dragon316 - I never said he directed them. And yes he does have the power to have a say what the turtles are gonna look like

@slickrickdesigns - I would say it’s one of those lightning in a bottle situations. The first one had the distinction of being the first. Nobody knew if it would work or not. They went dark and gritty despite studio heads objections. Every TMNT incarnation since has made the goal of selling toys to kids the top priority. Too many chiefs with different opinions on what makes the turtles marketable. Even the second and third movies from the 90’s fail in comparison to the original.

@slickrickdesigns - TMNT Out of the Shadows >>>>>>> TMNT 90s Trilogy

@TheSuperMex - out of the shadows was better than most of the other crap but TMNT 1 and 2 are probably the best 2 movies.

@dragon316 - producers do have a say in the movies they are producing. 👍

How the hell does Leo have braces? I'm trying to imagine Master Splinter sitting in a waiting room at an orthodontist's office, but I feel like that would attract unwanted attention.

@InfinitePunches - because they r supposed to be teenagers

Not bad though it doesn’t seem like there are those subtle physical differentiations between them. Like Raph always has that edge in his eye and is sometimes slightly little bulkier than the others.

I actually don’t hate the designs. Leaps and bounds above that Rise garbage. It why is Raph’s mask/bandana the official go-to look for him now? Leo’s braces are funny but probably should have been on Donnie and raises all sorts of questions.

Oh god please make sure none of Rogen's humor is put into this. I don't want the Turtles joking around about getting high.

You can see clues to 2 villains in one pic. You can see the Shredder in the back ground and something that hints to Krang

Did the Rise of TMNT movie come out yet? Fell in love with that show’s animation. Some of the best 2D animation I’ve seen in a western series next to the Avatar Franchise

Would love to see a TMNT closer to the Eastman and Laird designs that focus on them being teens while still being gritty

Concept art is OK & I'm digging, but the glasses on Donny to show he's the geek / inventor of the team & the snaggle tooth. Remove the glasses & give him full teeth & we're good to go.

Technodrome looks decent enough for this take.

It’s for kids so I doubt any of that will be in there
I also feel as if people are confused about what Rogan has written, what he has just acted in, and what he and his partner have produced.

Is it too much to ask to just recapture the original motion picture's approach??
I mean what in the actual Fk.
The original film is the GOAT of all TMNT
