PART ONE OF THE EPIC CROSSOVER EVENT WITH THE FLASH AND ARROW — Barry(Grant Gustin) is thrilled when Oliver (guest star Stephen Amell), Felicity (guest star Emily Bett Rickards) and Diggle (guest star David Ramsey) come to Central City to investigate a case involving a deadly boomerang. Excited about teaming up with his friend, Barry asks Oliver if he’d like to help him stop Ray Bivolo (guest star Patrick Sabongui), the meta-human Barry is currently tracking. Bivolo causes people to lose control of their emotions and has been using that skill to robbanks. Unfortunately, the superhero partnership doesn’t go as smoothly as Barry expected. When Oliver tells Barry he still has a lot to learn, Barry sets out to prove him wrong by attempting to stopBivolo alone. However, when Bivolo infects Barry and sets him on a rage rampage, everyone is in danger, and the only one who can stop him is the Arrow. Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) is furious when Eddie (Rick Cosnett) tries to get a task force to stop The Flash, Joe and Dr. Wells(Tom Cavanagh) agree the Arrow is a bad influence on Barry, and Caitlin and Cisco deal with a newteam in S.T.A.R. Labs. Glen Winter directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & AndrewKreisberg and teleplay by Ben Sokolowski & Brooke Eikmeier (#107).

In the comic books, Ray Bivolo was first known as "Rainbow Raider", but got renamed "Chroma" when he made his debut in "The New 52" continuity. Of course, his small screen debut isn't anywhere near as interesting as the rest of the information included within this description of the first part of the Arrow/The Flash crossover, and at least we now knowhat leads to the two heroes exchanging blows! How the rest of Central City reacts to The Arrow's presence is also intriguing...

Wait a minute, hasn't Patrick Sabongui been playing Detective Singh on the Flash since the pilot? So either the casting credit is wrong, or they accidentally gave away a spoiler for this episode.

Episode 7 is actually not "Flash vs. Arrow", episode 7 is "Power Outage." The crossover will be episode 8 for both the Flash and Arrow.

Rainbow Raider actor hasn't been announced and it isn't the Police Chief. I really hope Bivolo uses his Rainbow Bridge, it seems like the show should be able to afford it if they can have a big water explosion scene.

Holy Hannah, that's the answer.

It's Gorilla Grodd who gets Flash and Emo Arrow (NOT GREEN ARROW, a kick-ass character) to fight each other!

I wish they had updated the Flash suit after it was destroyed last EP. That would've been a great way to explain changes instead of the typical "here's the season 2 suit" with little or no mention as to why it changed. I still hate the costume, but thankfully it's usually just a blur on screen.

The Flash FX have been stellar. I'm glad they stopped showing the goofy view of him running inside the blur that looked like Grant was dangling from wires and running on air. The FX inside the train, running up the building, and on water were pretty good. I know they are working their way up the speed scale, but it will be pretty gnarly when they make him break the sound barrier. I loved that JLU animated EP where Wally was circling the Earth in an instant to attack Lex/Brainiac. Raising the stakes and making Barry do something like that in a finale would be awesome. They have to address "speed force" one of these days.

The Smallville approach to villains is going to wear thin on audiences after a season, so they need to get some of the rogues in there that aren't collateral damage from the reactor explosion. Captain Cold was surprisingly good, so I hope he returns often like Slade in Arrow.

I really hate the Iris blogging about the Streak storyline. That is a lame rip-off of a dumb idea from Smallville where Lois was writing about the blur, and Clark began meeting with her in the shadows on rooftops. C'mon CW, you can do better than that. It's stupid things like that will prevent this show from moving beyond the typical teen drama BS CW usually churns out.
