Yesterday all our minds were blown away. We were hit with the announcement that Christopher Nolan will Godfather the DC Film Universe, Zack Snyder will be a part of Godfather with Nolan and directing Justice League but the biggest news could be the fact Christian Bale will return as Batman for Justice League. It seems as though WB's is finally starting the DC Film Universe in a great direction. The one thing though that all the DC fans want besides a Justice League movie is that they would like to see other superheroes outside of Batman & Superman on the big screen.

In 2011, WB's put out Green Lantern which was met with disapointment from DC fans and set back the possibility of seeing other DC heroes outside of Batman & Superman. Well we may be getting a new DC hero on the big screen in the shape of Flash.

As I was reading the Forbes article about what they think about the huge news from yesterday, a particular paragraph from the article caught my eye.

What other characters might be involved is not clear at this time. However, it’s important to note that Goyer has a Flash screenplay that’s reportedly pretty excellent just sitting on a shelf at Warner. If Goyer is involved in the Justice League project, it’s reasonable to speculate that his Flash script could be dusted off and put back into the mix.

It say Goyer who wrote the screenplay of both Batman Begins and Man of Steel. Goyer co-write the Batman Begins screenplay with Nolan but wrote Man of Steel by himslef. Goyer was also involved in the story for The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises but didn't write the screenplay to either film.

Now Goyer was suppose to write, produce, and direct Flash. Goyer said the reason it never happened was because:

The God's honest truth is that WB and myself simply couldn't agree on what would make for a cool Flash film. I'm quite proud of the screenplay I turned in. I threw my heart into it and I genuinely think it would've been the basis of a ground-breaking film. But as of now, the studio is heading off in a completely different direction. I expect you'll hear of some new developments on that front shortly.

Nolan and Goyer seem to have a good relationship. With Christopher Nolan Godfathering the DC Film Universe, it's highly likely Goyer will show him the Flash screenplay Goyer wrote years ago. We all know that Nolan showed WB's Goyer's Man of Steel screenplay and look where that film is now. If Nolan likes Goyer's Flash screenplay there it will without a doubt be used for a Flash film (because we all know WB's won't say no to Nolan).

If the Flash screenplay is at least half as great as Batman Begins or Man of Steel this would be a great DC character to start with outside of Batman & Superman. What do you guys think about this? Do you want to see a Flash movie just as good as Batman Begins and Man of Steel? Comment below. Peace.

[frick] WB if it is true! It was bad enough that monkey Hal got a movie before Diana, now no personality Barry Allen will too?

"With the huge announcement of Christopher Nolan Godfathering the DC Film Universe..."

You mean an unfounded rumor from an unreliable source that post made up or obvious rumors until one of them hits the nail?

@LEVITKUZ

-Nolan and Goyer working on a Superman movie

Something that had been rumored for the longest time.

-Heath Ledger being offered the role of Joker

I'd like to see a link

-Ben Kingsley playing Mandarin

After he had been announced to join the cast, which was something extremely obvious.

-Thanos in Avengers

Another thing that had rumored for the longest time. They posted like 5 different end credit cameos and hoped one of them was accurate.

-Guardians of the Galaxy movie in 2014

Yeah, right after they took back they had "confirmed" Black Panther was the 2014 mystery movie.

I would like to see a Flash movie. Wonder Woman and Aquaman just don't interest me. Barry Allen is definitely the best Flash. I don't mind Nolan and Snyder being part of the DC Universe as long as Snyder stays with Superman (providing Man of Steel is as good as is looks) and Nolan sticks to producing. I also wouldn't want David Goyer writing every movie for DC as it looks like he's doing.

For the record, when Kingsley was announced as a cast member of Iron Man 3, it was said right away that he likely wouldn't play Mandarin. And it wasn't El Mayimbe who broke the Black Panther report. As for Heath Ledger/Joker: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/news/1647220/apparently_heath_ledger_is_the_joker/

Plainly put, they've gotten more things right than wrong, and especially after Mayimbe's prior DC/WB track record, last night's JL news is likely spot on. Heck, Batman on Film asked WB about it, and they said "No comment".

I remember reading a couple of years ago that they were gonna tackle Flash the same way Marvel has been. Pick a theme and wrap the superhero elements around it (eg. Cap 2 being a political thriller)

So at the time they said the plans for Flash would be to make a crime/CSI thriller with superhero/sports elements.

In a way I hope this isn't true. Now, not because I don't want a 'Flash' movie, I do.

However it will really annoy me if we've been waiting all this time for a 'Flash' movie and all this time they've had a script just sat there as the WB continued to green light rubbish like 'Jack the giant slayer'

If they are going the World's Finest route than why not have each movie be a team up

Superman/Batman
Flash/Green Lantern
Wonder Woman/ Martian Manhunter

i always thought flash should be approached as a high school comedy type movie .. where in the end he matures into a man and is ready to take the mantle as the flash .. but i was thinking aaron johnson from kick ass would of been good for the role ..

Do World's Finest and Flash at same year, introduce Diana on JLA, and give her a spin-off movie later in the style of God of War.

Flash is a cool character in comics, but in the big screen is hard to have a solo movie, I mean, a guy who runs [frick]ing fast, and stuff, fighting what, a bad version of himself or a villain who shoots ice? It's a bit difficult to develop such a character in his own movie. How his battles are gonna end up like? He beating out the crap of the villain with his super speed and what? well.

It's about time Flash gets a movie. I so would like to see the Shade as the Villian. I think he could work because it sounds like WB wants a darker universe on the big screen.

i think having mm in the nick furry role is a amazing idea .. and the first movie the threat could be wonder woman and maybe they evetually win her over .. and at the end a greater threat comes to light in the form of darkseid..

I'd rather see Wonder Woman next. Get the DC Trinity Fleshed out, and introduce the Flash, and a new Green Lantern in the Justice League movie.

Ryan Kwanten as the Flash (Barry Allen)

Coté de Pablo as Wonder Woman

Ryan Gosling as Joker

my only question would be. ... When we will have a solo film Wonder Woman?

mi única pregunta sería. ...¿cuándo tendremos una película en solitario de Wonder Woman?

First of all: Wonder Woman much?
But also, wasn't this Goter Flash script about the Wally West Flash. As I recall, Ryan Reynolds was going to play the titular role.
And finally, don't they also have two scripts for Wonder Woman? One set in WWII and one set in the modern era by none other than Joss Whedon?

Indifferent over the whole Barry/Wally debate, I would love to see a Flash movie. My only exposure to him being the Justice League animated series, Justice League Doom, and the New 52, his sarcasm and generally playful attitude has always been a draw for me.

Casting:
I'd like to see a relative unknown play Flash (along with all the Heroes of the JLA. WB/DC struck gold w/Cavill, and I hope they go for Hammer for Batman). Relative unknowns make the best heroes; i.e. Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman (who was unknown when cast in 2000/2001), Andrew Garfield, Chris Hemsworth, etc.

I say Matt Barr...
He has the build, and the comedic background, but can also do drama, like Hatfields & McCoys. Plus, he's the same age as Henry Cavill (29).

Also, Barr is naturally charismatic and funny

I've been excited to see Flash on the big screen for years. While most people hated the GL movie, I enjoyed it and it was nice to see another DC superhero get their own movie. To see Flash next would be fantastic.
