Yesterday evening, we learned that Warner Bros. will host the first screening of The Flash at CinemaCon a whopping six weeks before the movie races into theaters.
The studio clearly isn't concerned about spoilers and with the Scarlet Speedster's first solo outing now expected to set the stage for DC Studios' DCU reboot, it will be very interesting to hear how much it's changed from previous cuts. Regardless, we've heard a lot of positive buzz about this one and this early screening is no doubt meant to build excitement among fans.
The controversies surrounding Barry Allen actor Ezra Miller (they/them) have been largely forgotten and The Flash could be a big enough hit to save their career and give this version of the Fastest Man Alive a place in the new DCU.
Director Andy Muschietti is no doubt putting the finishing touches to the movie and recently took to Instagram to share some early storyboards featuring Ben Affleck's Batman.
The Flash will mark the final time he plays the Dark Knight, though DC Studios is hoping he'll step behind the camera to helm one of their movies (we're hearing it could be new Batman movie The Brave and The Bold).
"Early storyboard I sketched for The Flash where our Bat Friend goes 'shpoonk!'" the filmmaker says in the post below. This moment appears to have been pulled from an early chase sequence in the movie that sees Batman and Barry team up to deal with Central City's criminal element.
Prior to the formation of DC Studios, Affleck was expected to return as Bruce Wayne in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Crisis on Infinite Earths, but plans have changed, and his time donning the cape and cowl is nearly over.
The Flash is set to be released in theaters on June 16.
