Fandango has debuted the first full clip from The Flash, and it features Michael Keaton making his grand entrance as Batman!

In the sneak peek, Barry Allen and his younger, alternate timeline counterpart find themselves in the Batcave (Barry II is particularly taken with the Batmobile), and we hear Bruce Wayne say he'll help them "get to Superman" before stepping into view as the legendary Dark Knight while the classic Batman '89 score rises.

Of course, we already know that Superman doesn't exist in this universe, and the three heroes will ultimately encounter Sasha Calle's Supergirl.

Check out the clip in the player below, and let us know what you think.

"Directed by Andy Muschietti, The Flash features Barry Allen traveling back in time in order to change events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to help. That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian…albeit not the one he’s looking for.

Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?"

The Flash is produced by Barbara Muschietti and Michael Disco, with a screenplay by Christina Hodson, and a screen story by John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein and Joby Harold, based on characters from DC. Warner Bros. Pictures presents a Double Dream/a Disco Factory production of an Andy Muschietti film.

the Burton era soundtrack just hits different, they don't make it like those anymore.

@Spidey91 - you know what they dont make anymore? legit hairlines. keaton has more hair now than in 1989.

@iceballsreborn - So, they can't have hair implants in this universe?

@Spidey91 - Elfman’s best IMHO. It had an old-school vibe even back then. Even though everything in the movie was very modern, it sounded like it came out of the thirties when The Batman first arrived on the scene

@Spidey91 - Sign of the times I guess. I like how the DCEU Barry is just like...all Batmen are dope and the one from Keaton's universe that grew up with him just can't handle it at all.

@iceballsreborn - There...have been fabulous advances in wig/weave tech at Wayne Enterprises. You didn't get the memo? I'm kidding, but yeah...I can't wait to see the piece they give him for Betelgeuse. The feels man 😊

@RolandD - Yeah, I'm surprised there isn't a scene or two, probably are, of Bale's Batman with Elfman music. I do feel like Elfman's is right up there with BTAS, I don't remember who did that one, and the music just screams Batman no matter who it is...unless it's Clooney. It's like they went full Adam West for BAR, and I know that was a thing for Schummaker.

@GhostDog - Man I loved keaton in 1989. to be honest thought that dark take, just doesnt work with a 70 year old keaton. his body movement and then switching to the CGI movement looks wierd.. like Sam jackson in captain marvel

@iceballsreborn - I agree.

There was something special about how grounded 1989 Keaton's Batman was. Also, seeing him in daylight in the Flash feels so weird. His Dark Knight felt like one that should ALWAYS be in darkness, in the nighttime.

@iceballsreborn - LMAO I couldn't stop laughing at sam Jackson in captain marvel 🤣. Tbf Keaton seems like he's in better shape though, he is moving quite well for a pensioner in a batsuit

@GhostDog - Yeah, that was one of the things that felt off in TDR too. If we’re being realistic though, even though a lot of crime happens at night, if there were a real Batman, he would be where he needed to be any time of the day.
GhostDog
GhostDog - 5/25/2023, 7:21 PM
@RolandD - As a kid I told myself that Batman not coming out in the day was acceptable because he allowed the police to have dominion over the day but he ruled the night. Also, I truly believed Gotham has no crime in the daylight haha. Obviously, his mystique works better in the night too.
RolandD
RolandD - 5/25/2023, 10:54 PM
@GhostDog - I love that. I just accepted that he was a creature of the night and if the authors, artists and moviemakers tend to show him and only night time scenes, then it was just right.

Coming more like a caricature of Keaton’s Batman than actually Keaton’s Batman.

@PlusUltra - I sort of agree with this clip. And its just under a minute so maybe it plays different in the full scene. The risk you run with bringing legends back. Some make the return look effortless (Garfield, Maguire). If it comes off like a caricature I don't think its the performers fault all the time, but the circumstance and setting they are put in; the direction. Everything has to go right.

I really wanna see Keaton’s Batman in this but honestly don’t think I’m gonna catch this one because I find Ezra Miller so annoying I don’t think I could sit through it. Man his voice at the start of this clip is grating. He was barely bearable in Justice League but they seem to have turned his annoying factor up quite a bit in this.

Also I love Tom Holland’s Spidey (more so in the back half of No Way Home where they let him grow up) but do we really need another overenthusiastic fanboy worshipping their idol for two hours? Mr Stark Mr Stark Mr Stark….

@connorblaze - A lot of this seems recycled from Justice League (specifically Whedon's version) with him being really excited to be in the Batcave and being really excited about the Batmobile, etc. They even reportedly have the lasso gag again, but with Batman this time.

@connorblaze - Not a fan of Miller’s Flash, especially with his personal life added in, but I think his performance as the original universe’s Flash is toned down from JL. The younger Barry seems more like Whedon’s Flash to me.

“Is this what I think it is?! I used to see this thing on the news all the time!”

Ezra’s line delivery was bad in this scene, his voice cracked. It’s going to be annoying having to Ezra‘s in the movie.

Also, I thought Keaton’s “yeah, I’m Batman” line was a trailer line, but no, it’s actually in the movie. Which makes the line feel awkward.

I know it would have looked like an exact copy of Avengers but they should have introduced each superhero character individually because WW, Aquaman, and Man of Steel were pretty good movies. The Flash has some great reviews but BvS, JL, and WW2 were horror stories. Maybe James Gunn can go back in time and put Snyder out of his misery and save the DCEU!
