Over the summer, it was revealed that Michael Keaton was in talks to reprise the role of Batman in The Flash, and concept art unveiled at DC FanDome showed his Caped Crusader fighting alongside the Fastest Man Alive. While that appeared to feature the 1989 version of the Dark Knight, it's been claimed that Keaton will become the DC Extended Universe's new Batman and a mentor to younger heroes.

Time will tell on that front, but during last night's Jimmy Kimmel Live, the actor was asked whether we can expect to see him in The Flash when the movie is released in 2022.

"I can't confirm anything," Keaton started, later adding that he is in talks to join the DCEU. "So, we're having discussions as they say," he continued. "We're talking about it. We'll see if that happens."

Keaton joked that "all 127" previous "Batmen" will be part of the DC Comics movie before declaring that he is, of course, the best Dark Knight to date.

It's a fun interview, and worth checking out. The signs are all pointing to the actor being part of The Flash, while reliable sources have also indicated that Ben Affleck will be returning as his version of Batman in the movie.

Do you think Keaton's Caped Crusader is the best big screen Batman?

I'm so hoping he will come back. For me, he was always the definitive Batman.

He is always going to be my favorite Batman. This movie could be sensational but I thought that about BVS and JL.

I thought it was already set in stone. I think seeing Michael Keaton as Batman again is nice change in relation to the source material, but I wouldn't have minded it if Jeffrey Dean Morgan suited up as the Batman either

@bkmeijer - The rumor mill has been on overdrive since they “announced” Keaton’s return. We haven’t seen any confirmations though, just news of talks. Like everything else with the Flash movie, I’ll believe it once I see it on screen.

@patgreyc - ''I’ll believe it once I see it on screen''

Yeah me too, the thing is though that I don't believe we'll ever get to see the Flash movie at all

@BlackBeltJones - I'll definitely agree with that lol. I don't know if that was a director error, or an actor error.

Michael Keaton trying to secure the bag in negotiations.

I'm not mad at that.

I just hope the movie would be good.

Off topic: Feeling bad for Ray Fisher though. He should be in this one too....but he decided to take on a giant corporation without any clout of his own.

Keaton is the man... that being said. Bale was the best Bruce Wayne. (throaty Batman voice aside)

@GwenLantern - Batman won't die because of the Covid. The Covid would die because of Batman. Because he's Batman.

I kind of expected that kind of answer even before I read the article. Might be a while before we get more solid confirmation.

I love Christan Bale, because he had one of the best Bruce Wayne story arcs of all-time, in any medium. But Keaton's stoicism as Batman, has forever defined the character. He's definitely the GOAT.
