Barry Allen underwent a shocking transformation in tonight's episode of The Flash, and as The CW series races toward the finale, the team will have to pull out all the stops next week to set things right.

Things took a very unexpected turn in tonight's episode of The Flash when Dr. Harrison Wells attempted to recreate the particle accelerator explosion which turned Barry Allen into The Fastest Man Alive, and next week's Kevin Smith helmed instalment will pick up where things ended in "Rupture." Will the Scarlet Speedster be able to return from this sinister alternate dimension? We'll have to wait and see, but let us know your thoughts on that and the promo below in the comments section.

With Barry (Grant Gustin) gone, the team must figure out a way to handle the return of an old enemy – Girder (guest star Greg Finley). Realizing Girder is retracing his steps from his last attack, Iris (Candice Patton) volunteers to act as bait to trap him in S.T.A.R. Labs. Meanwhile, Barry fights to return to his old life. Kevin Smith directed the episode written by Zack Stentz.

It seems like the 1990 Flash is going to be the man in the iron mask except he will be named Jay Garrick instead of Barry Allen, which means Henry Allen will probably be killed in the season finale. It also looks like we will get the Flash family vs Professor Zoom fight from the comics. Oh and on an even bigger note: FINALLY HAIR MASKS IN DC LIVE ACTION! They didn't even give one to Firestorm.

I was loving this show, and i am still committed, but now it's starting to teeter on madness. The direction this series is taking is coming dangerously close to impossible to follow. With totally nutty scientific concepts that are completely illogical and retarded! I know...I know it's a Flash show, but up until now it was really tight and with cohesive concepts.

Nevertheless....

What's going on with Barry's dad? Did he say Garrick was Barry's mothers maiden name?

Are they going to reveal he's some big villain??? I really hope not.

Are Wally West and Jessie going to be speedsters now?

@TheSanitizer - Yeah, Jesse and Wally got hit by the Speedforce so they will be speedsters but probably not until episode 22. I'm also pretty sure now the 1990 older Flash will be Henry Allen named Jay Garrick instead because he is the Flash that came first.

SKOne you are a little late as that is what I posted last week so no spoiler alert. When Barry traveled to earth 2 you get a glimpse of the 1990 flash, along with supergirl, legion ring, and old Oliver queen. We have seen supergirl and old green arrow, but 1990 flash and assuming booster gold haven't showed up yet.

good episode, Zoom was badass! A little dumb that he only killed a bunch of no-name red shirts instead of Singh, Joe and Barry, even with that Caitlin excuse. Speaking of, what if her time with Zoom traumatizes her so much that she becomes killer frost? Also it looks like earth 2 Henry is Jay!

@FishyZombie - Earth 2 Henry is in Atlantis with Barry's mom. I think Jay Garrick was taken out of the past and is a relative of Henry Allen thats why they will look alike

@teefurtree - I wouldn't be disappointed, The Flash story arc from the New 52 that a lot of this is based on has a dinosaur in it and I'm 100 percent certain there will be a T-Rex in the Speedforce that Barry has to run from.

@teefurtree - Don't know if you'll check this article again, but I wanted to update you that even though this flash season is based heavily on the Future Flash storyline of Flash Vol. 4, next weeks episode is called "The Runaway Dinosaur" because of a book on child Barry's shelf, it can be seen in the extended trailer. Felt bad about giving wrong info, wanted to let you know.
