There's been a lot of talk over the past couple of years about Disney's The Lone Ranger, most of it negative. At one point, it appeared as if the remake would in fact never see the light of day as budgetary concerns would lead to the studio putting the project on hold. However, once these were worked out, the (still) massively budgeted film was made and finally released in North America this past weekend. However, a wave a overwhelmingly negative reviews did little to help The Lone Ranger and a disasterous first weekend at the box office means that it is now well on its way to being one of THE biggest flops of 2013. However, what did you guys think of the movie? Well, here's your chance to tell us exactly that...

"The Lone Ranger" is a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.

Johnny Depp as Tonto

@fettastic

Exactly!! The original was great, Lone ranger is one of the great classic heroes, too bad it was bastardized by Hollywood once again, another Green Hornet.

The mask of Zorro did it right, took the original and made it great by sticking to the source material, and RESPECTING IT!!!!

That's something follywood can't seem to grasp, you don't need to change, or "update" everything, theres a reason why somethings are popular.

Problem is that Hollywood is clueless about the Western genre.

Johnny Depp has never been a big draw in filmdom. In fact, until the "Pirates of The Caribean" series (for which, inexplicably, Depp has been given sole credit for the success of), he was considered a risk in Hollywood. His career trajectory remains the same, his choices his own, and his box office, as always, inconsistent. He doesn't care, never has, and owns his own island. Any questions?

i actually enjoyed it for what it was. I think it could've been a far better movie if they cut some things out. there were massive split second tonal changes that jarred me while watching. They came way out of left field and felt so weird. If they had cut those tonal changes out i feel this movie would have been a lot, and i mean A LOT, better.

I would rather watch Jonah Hex again before I see the Lone Ranger again. Two and a half hours I don't get back.
Despicable Me 2 was great and thankfully it killed the ranger at the box office. Prince of Persia John Carter and Lone Ranger. .. Flops for Disney.

Hated it. Not quite the worst movie ever, perhaps, but definitely the worst of 2013, so far. I mean, it's always about anything else...but the titular character! It never takes itself seriously, either, it almost feels like a complete travesty. There are a lot more, but I'll just end it here - it's the first time where a movie actually pushes me to nearly leave it before it's done.

This movie is nowhere NEAR as bad as the critics are making it out to be. It's not a great movie, but it's entertaining and I thought it was a good summer popcorn flick. It had a few really cool scenes and the finale was actually pretty awesome. Sucks that people take so much stake in RT scores.

Loved it! I do agree that it was too long and some scenes needed to be cut out of it. I didnt like seeing a dead horse dying on screen just for comedy.
