Despite the highly anticipated return of Michael Keaton as Batman, excitement for The Flash has definitely lessened somewhat in recent weeks. That can be blamed on actor Ezra Miller's recent legal troubles, including a disorderly conduct and harassment charge and allegations of assault.
TMZ has, predictably, shared bodycam footage from Miller's recent arrest, and their conduct is unlikely to help them gain any new fans. After the police officer refers to Miller as "sir," the actor can be seen responding, "I'm not a sir. I'm transgender nonbinary." While the cop quickly apologises, Miller goes on to say if the officer continues using the incorrect pronouns, it will be akin to "an act of intentional bigotry, and it is a technical hate crime according to U.S. federal law."
Sheesh.
This isn't the weirdest thing in the footage, though, as Miller claimed that they film themselves getting assaulted for "NFT crypto art," and threw around accusations of patrons in the bar being Nazis.
It was way back in 2020 that footage surfaced online showing Miller seemingly choking a woman, and it was earlier this year that a Hawaiian couple filed a restraining order against the actor when they allegedly threatened them. While those charges were eventually dropped, Miller found themselves in trouble with the law again in April after being accused of throwing a chair at a woman during a party.
Needless to say, it's beginning to feel that Warner Bros. might want to use The Flash to switch out Barry Allen actors rather than as an excuse to wipe away the continuity established by Zack Snyder.
The Flash is currently set to be released in theaters on June 23, 2023.
