As mentioned in last week's update, I decided to count last Thursday as part of the Memorial Day weekend due to the new releases opening. As a result of that, last week's numbers were smaller and this weeks will be larger than other box office sources. Now onto the numbers:

THOR

Domestic Earnings --
Weekend (Thur-Mon): $13,028,919
Weekday (Tues-Thur): $2,433,460
Total Week 4: $15,462,379

Predictions For Next Week--
Weekend Take: $5-6 Million
Weekday take: $2-3 Million
Total Week 5: $7-9 Million

We can expect Thor to pass $170m by Monday, beating early estimates of it's total gross. The film isn't closing anytime soon, either.

Totals --
Domestic US: $164,872,904
International: $254,052,374
Worldwide: $418,925,278

Rank Among Highest Earning Marvel Films (Out of 23)--
Domestic US: 9th (Up from 11th Last Week)
International: 6th
Worldwide: 7th (Up From 8th Last Week)

On the domestic chart, Thor's next competitor is "X-Men Origins: Wolverine". Having already defeated it on the International and Worldwide charts, "Thor" now faces a very tight race to beat that film in the US. While all it needs is $15.1, the natural decline of earnings per week might be enough to hold it back. The final numbers will be very close, either way.

On the foriegn / international chart, only $12.7m seperates Thor from beating the first Iron Man for fifth place. While that threshold probably won't be crossed this week, its release in Japan on July 2nd should put it over the top.

It's doubtful that any more chart-climbing can be done on the worldwide chart.

Rank Among the Highest Earning CBM's (Since 1978)--
Domestic: 17th (Up from 20th)

PRIEST

Domestic Earnings --
Weekend (Thur-Mon): $2,422,699
Weekday (Tues-Thur): $589,199
Total Week: $3,011,898

Predictions --
Weekend Take: <$1 Million
Weekday Take: <$1 Million
Total Week: $1 Million at best.

Priest is down to just 583 theaters in the US this weekend, down 70%. I'd be shocked if it didn't close by the time Green Lantern comes out.

Totals--
Domestic US: $28,337,212
International: $37,600,000
Worldwide: $65,937,212

The international box office hasn't been updated since my last report.

Rank Among the Highest Earning CBM's (Since 1978)--
Domestic: 69th (Up From 70th)

X-MEN FIRST CLASS

Predictions --
Sources have been saying the first weekend could go anywhere from $58m to $69m. I would put my estimate at around $65m.

Thanks for posting the numbers.Thor is a success. I have not understood the criticism that audiences just could not suspend disbelief enough to "get it" or accept a god as a character. Oh they accept the world of pandora with flying clumps of rock, but Asgard is too hard to grasp. If this were true Lord of the Rings would have been a huge flop. Also the statement that it is too complicated to keep up with the back story that connects Thor with hulk and Iron Man. Really? This is mainly a complaint from professional critics. How they can be critics and have trouble with that,I will never know how would you ever get through Gone with the Wind with all it's characters and many back stories if you are ,well let's say so "challenged", that you can't keep up with hints at other films and that if you stay after the credits you will get a hint of the next movie. oh, and first.

I am glad that Thor has done very well. Not many good movies do that well these days. My only complaint for Thor is that it felt kind of rushed.

I loved Thor, my only complaint

****spoliers****

the battle with the Destroyer, way, way to short and easy for Thor to win.

****end spoliers****

Otheriwse, still loved it, and I consider this a big "W", for Marvel Studios and comic fans. Hoping that we see more "W"s coming our way with Cap and GL both around the corner.
