Fans of Marvel mobile games have had the opportunity to enjoy Kabam's Marvel Contest of Champions for years with regular updates and upgrades added to the game. More recently, the studio also launched Marvel Realm of Champions for those looking for something a little different.
Marvel Realm of Champions allows players to customize their favorite heroes in a multitude of ways. With access to many different builds, weapons, armor, and more, each player's experience is more personal.
The newest update to the game is Asgardian-based and focuses on one of the most powerful and popular characters in Marvel Comics, Thor. Due to the game's versatility and customization options, however, there are many routes that Thor fans can take.
Not only can players utilize War Thor, who is pictured above, but there are also influences from different comic book runs, which allow fans from different generations to get fun references from some popular - and obscure - titles.
When speaking to Kabam Games' Gabriel Frizzera, he went into detail about where they pulled the different armor and weapons from, quoting a few runs in the comics and a particular film that inspire some of the new equipment.
"If you're a Thor fan, you're going to have quite a lot, actually. Because customization is one of the things that the other games don't do, we have managed to take advantage of all of these pieces of the Marvel Universe, and we let the players mix them together.
So if you're a fan of Thor from the '80s, there is armor that is inspired by the Walt Simonson run. If you're a fan of Thor Ragnarok, the funny Thor with the gladiator pieces, you can also have that. If you want your Thor to be really crazy and have full Destroyer Armor or a different kind of Mjolnir made of gold or lava or anything that was from obscure comics in the '70s.
We have all of that, but you can also piece them together and make your own Thor. I know I've made some really cool Thors that haven't been seen anywhere, and you can take them into battle and see them kick some ass."
