Check out these new info tibits, including a cast addition, and twitter reports.

First, on Thor's IMDB Profile, a guy by the name of,John Bailey, has been cast as a SHIELD Guard

Could this mean that Marvel could have filmed some earth scenes, while on the soundstage, in Manhattan Beach. Maybe this guy would be apart of SHIELD Agent, Phil Coulson's entourage, like in Iron Man.
____________________________________________________________________________________________

That brings me to my next bit of info. A tweeter tweets the following that adds to the possiblity of Marvel filming earth scenes on the soundstage already:

"Had a class with a SHIELD agent today who said he is shooting scenes for Thor next week! :)
10:00 PM Jan 29th "

"At one point he goes "I was in Iron Man and Iron Man 2 and am shooting Thor next week" and inside I went SJGSFDIUDGSFJB!
10:05 PM Jan 29th "

Then our very own CBM Editor, MultiPurposePoni, asked something about the subject:

"What the hell kind of class were YOU in?
10:09 PM Jan 29th

Her reply was:

"@Poni_Boy Haha he is one of my acting teachers
10:34 PM Jan 29th"

If you haven't noticed already, these were posted way back on the 29th of January, so maybe they have already did earth scenes before the crew moves to Santa Fe, New Mexico.

My next bit of info doesn't reveal much, but is still interesting. A tweet from a guy who makes kilts:

"Just back from picking up lunch supplies at "The Butcher & The Baker and run into Colm Feore who's in the midst of filming "Thor"
12:10 PM Feb 11th "

I had almost forgot Colm Feore was even in this film. Great to hear.

Next, from twitter again, actor Michael PapaJohn, tweets about shooting for Thor. Check It Out!

"Shooting nights on THOR...a great week of filming..action ,action n more action ! Back at it next week
about 5 hours ago"

Last, from BBC News, a lucky writer got the chance to join his mentor, Kenneth Branagh, once again on the set of Thor. From BBC News:

Keri Collins, 31, who lives near Chepstow, Monmouthshire, is flying out to Los Angeles this month.

Actor, director and producer Branagh has been mentoring Collins as part of a scheme for emerging UK talent.

Branagh's film version of the Marvel comic book features stars such as Sir Anthony Hopkins and Natalie Portman.

Collins, who will "work shadow" Branagh for a week, said the opportunity was "fantastic".

"Hopefully, as my career develops, I'll end up working on big films but it's such a big film - you can go through your entire career and never work on such a big film," he said.

Thor, which first appeared in Marvel's comics in 1962, is due to be released next year. Filming started last month.

In the film, the warrior Thor is banished to Earth after reigniting an ancient war.

When I asked for Ken as my mentor, I had no idea he was doing Thor or doing anything that big

Keri Collins
Once there, he comes to humanity's aid when invaders arrive from his home land of Asgard.

"I'm going to the studio set in Los Angeles which will be my first time on a proper film sound stage," said Collins.

"It's amazing he's amenable to me doing it really - for me being there for a week.

"When I asked for Ken as my mentor, I had no idea he was doing Thor or doing anything that big."

I want this movie at the very least two hours. If this movie is going to be epic then it needs, and deserves more then an hour and a half. They need to forget time restraints and go Lord of the Rings style.

Multi- Everyone on that set is going to touch the hammer the same way the Star Wars set grabbed the lightsaber. Makes me wish I was an extra on that set for damn sure. I'm certain if I touched the hammer I would feel compelled to yell for Asgard and throw the damn thing.

"Invaders from Asgard" It sounds like we may have an awesome battle scene on Earth. I wonder if that has anything to do with the horses on the beach scene. This movie just sounds more and more amazing each time I hear about it. This is the one I most excited about thus far!

So far so good for this film. I'm honestly not the biggest Thor fan out there, but I remain hopeful that we get to see an Iron Man-like film that really brings the best out of him.

I also still hopeth that Thor is allowed to speaketh thy Olde English. I always thought that was one of the coolest things about him (outside of the Hammer), and that it made him sound more noble and god-like. A Norse God shouldn't talk like 'yo! waddup dawg?'.

The RED bit is Monmouthshire, right on the border next to England! If it only it were a porn town...

Talking of Wales, I didnt realise until today when I was reading the X-Men: Manifest Destiny graphic novel (fell behind on the monthly issues so I had to but the TPB's!) that Pixie is Welsh! Finally, a superhero from Wales!!! ;D

Good stuff.

@ profOJ: No your not the only one at all.

I don't buy the 2012 malarchy either. If anything economic collapse is the one particularly likely scenario. But that could happen anytime. Could be this year, or it could be the next.
FuzzyLion
FuzzyLion - 2/13/2010, 7:14 PM
Even if the world does end in 2012, the date isnt supposed to be until Dec. 21st or so, so Avengers will already be out. So everyone will have good 6 months or so to complain about it or talk about how awesome it was.

Come on world, the Mayan calendar just ended
at that year, just like our calendar

new year!

Throw out that old Mayan calendar ya got
rollin' around and get a new calendar!
I think they got 'em at Walmart!
By the way didn't the Mayans just mysteriously
disappear from the face of the earth?
I wouldn't rely on them too much! lol

lol @ DDD: We are in a bad way that's true.
I'm no expert but one important thing to remember about all of that is that the world's economies are all tightly linked in a precarious balance. The financial ruin of one country greatly affects another, especially if your one of the larger, more affluent, or more producing countries. My favorite example is China keeping our crappy economy going by constant endless lending. You know they wouldn't do it unless it was good for them somehow.

I'm super pumped about Thor too BTW! To me next year will be the best movie year of all bloody time! boo ya!
