Thought the movie was great. Don't know if I liked it more than the first Iron Man.

Chris Hemsworth as Thor was just great casting though. I loved Stan Lee's cameo. The frost giant battle was EPIC. I don't like that The Warrior's 3 seemed kinda pointless through the movie. And natilie portman's "Oh. My. God." line. Terrible.

Soundtrack wasn't exactly what I was hoping for either. It needed to be more epic.

I'd give this probably an 8/10. Some of the CGI didn't look too good in spots, but that's expected. It looked great most of the time.

Anyone else notice he only wore the helmet for one scene? Haha.

Also I found the cameo of a certain somebody pointless.

@Intruder: exactly. that was my only complaint about the movie. i mean 1hr 54mins is not enough time for a Thor movie.

@Vermillion: yeah, he only wore the helmet for like 20 seconds when he was about to be the new king of Asgard. I hope they give the helmet its due in the Avengers and Thor sequels.

Chris Hemsworth did an excellent job as Thor.

I haven't seen it yet, I'm going tonight. But from what I heard, they cut out too many scenes. Such as the one which selvig finally realized that Hemsworth is Thor and when they start fighting in the bar. I really wished they would have kept that in because I loved that part in the script.

Very good movie overall. Better than IronMan and equally as good as IronMan 2. The only three disappointments in the movie are;

1. Not Enough HELMET wear

2. Not Enough Lightning

3. Longer fight scene with Destroyer.

For these 3 reasons I give it a 7 1/2 out of 10. Would give an 8 if the fight scene with Destroyer lasted 2 minutes more.

I just have one question, how do they explain how Loki looks like an Asgardian but was born a frost giant?
marvel72
marvel72 - 5/6/2011, 6:17 PM
@ jok3rsc0usin

i'm not sure, but it could be why he's a little short for a frost giant as well.

like a deformed baby in the eyes of the king.

maybe where he was brought up as a child, when among asgardians he's white but when he's back in jotunheim with the frost giants he's hertiage comes back hence he starts turning blue.

i honestly don't know,i may have to look into it.

Yea I kinda just figured when he was young he made himself look like the asgardians around him. That's the only gripe I had, but especially with people watchin the movie without any knowledge of the characters I can see being confused I just think that they should have explained it a little....(spoiler) and they should have showed how Loki went from falling off the rainbow bridge into nowhere then to the end credits scene. I loved the film but it did have a couple plot holes, I think Thor just needed to be a more lengthy of a film to explain everything further.

@Josh Wilding: Okay, I had this exact same featurette posted last night and it was taken down only to be replaced by you. Now I know that you weren't the one who took it down, but I am getting incredibly frustrated with how some editors are taking things down without even looking at them, not recognizing good articles, and the like-sort.

This movie was beyond good and let me say to anyone who had doubts or complained about Idris Elba as Heimdall get over it cause he was an epic Heimdall.

Just came back from my second viewing. 2D is a good deal, although the 3D gives the film higher definition. Instead of burying Captain America as I was already meh about the film, THOR actually makes me look forward to it. I hope this means the ending of Cap will be a HULK reference.

Great cast.
Great Directing.
Great Acting.
Great Costumes.
Great sets.
Great special FX.
Great visual design.
Great Story.
Great Character development.
Great Action.

Just saw it, it was AMAZING The fight with the Frost Giants were awesome!!! Chris and TOM OWNED their roles. The only gripe I had was that I wanted to see the really EVIL Loki. But he's well on his way there. Very great Films. I have been waiting forever to see Thor flying and spinning that hammer on the big screen!

I saw it today. Pretty enjoyable! I thought the highlight was the fight with the frost gians early on. Overall, I still think I like both Iron Man and The Incrdible Hulk more, but this was definitely a good introduction to the character. I'm not sure if it's going to do huge numbers, but I think those non-fans who see it will be happy to see Thor again in the Avengers. Now it all comes down to Cap!

steelrocks - 5/6/2011, 9:40 PM
just saw it on IMAX 3D. My hat is off to everyone envolved with that movie.

Neobaggins is correct in that everything in this movie is GREAT.

I dont think it was rushed but I do think that some things were left unexplained although I know that's a marketing game for the blu-ray

I think it will be hard for CAP and GL to beat Thor as top CBM of the year! I will see it in 2D and this may be the first time ever, that I will watch a movie the third time in a movie theather.

Asgard, Frost Giant fights, fights on earth with destroyer, on Asgard, the plot... I think it I was more WOWed at this movie than Iron Man and I [frick]ing loved Iron Man.

It is a good draw at best, if Thor is not even better.

MrSpecs When you watch Star blue, you will see how Shaft loves to get his hands on Rubiks Cubes in hopes to solve their puzzles. Star blue meets a guy that looks like a rogue computer program Elf lord that gets the Rubiks cube first. Shaft eventually gets it. Star blue should end with a reference to big green.
NeoBaggins
NeoBaggins - 5/7/2011, 1:12 AM
MrSpecs lol But what I really want to know is; when does little green get that awesome Boot-Strap Bill action figure? He was obviously playing with it when shaft showed him the rubik's cube. Seems like little green wanted to play with that even more. In the comics, little green played with big green and had a very good time.
