Thor: Love and Thunder wasn't the "movie of the year" candidate most of us hoped for, but one of its biggest crimes has to be wasting Jaimie Alexander's Lady Sif. The character has been sidelined since 2013's Thor: The Dark World, making her MCU return one of the most highly anticipated parts of Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok sequel.

Unfortunately, she only had two very brief scenes in the movie, neither of which really made up for how long it's been since we last saw her head into action.

Some recently released concept art pointed to there once being much bigger plans for the Asgardian but, as things stand, she's become about as important to this franchise as The Warriors Three. It's a shame, though now Sif is back in New Asgard, there's always a chance the hero will have more to do moving forward (even if it's with only one arm).

Alexander has now taken to social media to share some behind-the-scenes photos of her comic-accurate Sit costume, and it's fair to say this is a badass design. It's one we only got to see on screen for a matter of moments, and we can only imagine how cool the character might have looked had she been given the chance to head into battle decked out in this armour.

In another post, the actor teased fans about Sif MCU future by asking, "If Lady Sif had a series, what would YOU like to see? I’m loving some [Beta Ray Bill]." Had she had a bigger role to play in Thor: Love and Thunder, a Disney+ series would have definitely been easy to imagine becoming a reality.

As things stand, though, who knows what the future holds in store for this fan-favourite warrior.

Instagram appears to be having some embed issues, but don't worry because we have you covered; you can see screenshots of Jaimie Alexander's Sif photos below:

Not a fan of this movie but I loved her look!

@Luigi - I loved her look but it's the one scene in the movie I was so pissed off at. I get that Taika wanted comedy which is fine. The guy can definitely nail emotional beats when he wants to. My issue is with the world building thus far. Up until this point Sif has been gone from the MCU. She wasn't present in Ragnarok, Infinity War, or Endgame. So Thor had no idea where one of his best friends were. Thor didn't mourn any of his friends in any film and now that he finally found one alive it was downgraded to a joke about her missing an arm. Him and Sif needed to have at least one serious emotional conversation recapping what happened and the importance of them still having one another to rely on. I am fine with Valkyrie replacing Sif as the face of Thor's new friends. But it's still important for Thor to get closure on what happened. Just my opinion.

@SonOfAGif - Gif, you've put more sincere thought, respect and consideration towards the Thor character than the director (Waititi) that reduced him to a buffoonish punchline or the producer (Feige) that allowed and encouraged it. 🧐👍🏻

@SonOfAGif - You are asking for good writing. No place for that in Taika's Thor movies.

@Razorface1 - Taika has good writing under his belt. That I will never deny. The guy definitely knows how to nail serious emotional beats which I mentioned. I'm just baffled as to why of all scenes or sequences he felt this particular one should have been comedic... Hell even the scene with Korg being dismantled by Zeus had a slightly more serious tone than Sif's scene.

Probably my least favorite scene. Wanted more from her.

Otherwise really enjoyed it.

@BO31 - IMO, so much of the perception of this movie changes if they had shown Gorr vs Sif and the Giant Beast. It's a scene that would have added much of what people felt was missing.

Semi-OT.: I'm not gonna pretend I've been the biggest fan of the Warriors Three on page (or on screen), but maaaaan, Taika's "this guy and that guy and whoever that is" must have pissed so many people off...

When you treat certain characters like that, what good is Sif's blink-amd-you-mis-it comic accurate costume?

Never been a fan of her character or her acting. My missus loves that show she was in but thought it was godawful. Glad she’s been sidelined in all the films.

I didnt hate this movie like a lot of people did but they definitely should have shown Gorr killing a few gods to amp up the threat that he posed. A fight between him and Sif where we get to see how she got her permanent injury would have been cool.

The 3rd act of this movie was great, why Taika thought he needed to fill the rest of the movie with so much of himself narrating and making stupid, pointless jokes points to his narcissistic tendencies.

It's comical she was added in the first credit sequence... she spoke two lines and was fairly inconsequential to the shit plot

You know, it's funny. We talk about how we want more of her but removing her one scene actually kinda improves the story.

Think about it, we already knew gorr was a threat and sif didn't add to that. She tells Thor he's going to New asgard, but that's a no Brainer for a God killer. And it removes the plot hole of them establishing only warriors who die specifically in battle go to Valhalla since Jane very clearly lived a bit after the battle but could still go. I think we needed more from her too, but the way it's written means the plot actually works better without it.

And for anyone who might point out the battle for cancer Jane is going through counts, I'd like to remind you sif is going through a battle to survive during that scene so that should've counted for her going to valhalla.

If that Hercules: Rise of the Gods project is real, I hope Sif get's to show up in that. And with this look (bar the scars), because I think she looks great.

A shame Marvel has allowed these characters to become parodies of what could've been. Hopefully, when they inevitably reboot, the Asgardians will get that sweet Wakanda treatment. But that all depends on the director/writers, I guess...

Jaimie even looks good all beat up..

I feel like Sif has been one of the most under-utilized characters in the entire MCU. She had/has a lot of potential and deserved much better.
