THOR: THE DARK WORLD In Search of "Men Of Fire"

UPDATED| Possibly hinting at the fire demon, Surtur's inclusion in the sequel, a reported casting call for Marvel's Thor: The Dark World reveals extras that're skilled with fire are needed!

Marvel and director Alan Taylor are currently in London prepping the official commencement of filming for the anticipated sequel, Thor: The Dark World. And although primary cast additions have yet to unveil, casting calls for background roles apparently have. According to a Tumblr user, a casting call for the anticipated sequel has revealed producers are in need of extras that're particularly experts with fire. The Tumblr user writes:

“‘Men of Fire

For the a new Marvel Super Hero feature film we are looking for men who are skilled in playing with fire to pretend to be warriors.

The Requirements:
You must be highly skilled with playing with fire example skills include - Spinning, Fire Sticks, Fire Breathing, Fire eating etc’”
.

UPDATE: The User has offered verbatim info, which an additional source (Universal Extras) confirms. How do you think fire dancing, eating & breathing relates to Thor's next outing? It's likely to involve earthbound scenes, but more interestingly, it could be one of the other "dark worlds" the Asgardians are bound to pay a visit. Perhaps, the casting call alludes to the sequel exploring Muspelheim, the realm of eternal fire, and the home of the Fire Demons and their ruler Surtur. That could be in addition to the strongly-believed Dark Elves. What do you think?

Exploring Thor's relationship with the Asgardian all-father Odin, as well earthbound companion Jane Foster, “Thor: The Dark World” follows the God of Thunder to The Nine Realms beyond Asgard and earth. And as his evil half-brother, Loki, returns for Asgardian justice, a new threat rises. Also rejoining Thor are his fellow Asgardians, Lady Sif, gatekeeper Heimdall and Warriors Three, as they encounter mythical Norse creatures among evildoers.

“Thor: The Dark World” stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Mads Mikkelsen, Jaimie Alexander, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, with Stellan Skarsgard and Ray Stevenson. And Alan Taylor (“Game of Thrones”) takes over directorial duties from Kenneth Branagh, who helmed the first “Thor” film. With a screenplay by Robert Rodat,“Thor: The Dark World” is set for release on November 8, 2013.

@HelaGood just because they are recruiting fire eaters doesn't mean it will be Surtur either...

Face it, as much as we would love to speculate who the villain/villans could be its way too early

I'm hoping we get all 3 - Svartalfheim, Muspelheim, and Hel. And Malekith, Surtur, and Hela.

I use to date a girl who was a trained "fire entertainer". She could juggle the fire sticks, breath fire, eat fire. Her mouth was very talented...

This will surely bring epicness to a whole new level (and that goes for the other MCU films).

Phase 2, guys. It'll bring EPIC to a whole new level. Guarantee it. :)

Stay EPIC, my friends!

Well hopefully if Surtur and his fire demons are in it then Beta Ray Bill should not be too hard to find since he was linked to the fire demons in the EMH show .

Maybe Surtur may just have an appearnce on the film, or maybe his role in Thor: Dark World is something bigger. Possibly teaming up with the Dark Elves and Malekith for some plot against Asgard.

And if Surtur does appear in Thor: Dark World, and if his is much bigger than just a cameo or an appearance, then we might, might, see the Twilight Sword. And that'll be cool to see as well on the big screen. While we do get the villians of the Nine Realms in future Thor films (hell yeah!), it is also important to bring in the relics from the Nine Realms and have them in future Thor films (like the Casket of Ancient Winters, the Twilight Sword, the Inifinity Gauntlet, etc).

Looks awesome. I remeber sitting in theator as well seeing and missed the after credit scene from Iron Man but saw it in Hulk with Stark talking to Ross.

It's hard to believe phase one is complete. Look hella forward to owning the Avengers on dvd and catching all the great Marvel films next year and in years to come.

I don't think it means Surtur. From the description, it sounds like some kind of festivity in Asgard.
