Marvel Studios recently promised to be more inclusive when it comes to future casting decisions (we already got some positive updates at SDCC), and now the studio is said to be searching for a transgender actress to play an unnamed character in Phase 4.
We're not sure if it's for a movie or one of the Disney+ shows, but
Geeks Worldwide reckons filming is scheduled for 2020, which doesn't
really narrow it down very much, to be honest!
The character is code-named "Jessica," and Marvel is reportedly looking for "a transwoman actress of any ethnicity in her 20s to 30s" to play her. GWW reckons it could be Sera (the Anchorite that hooks up with Angela in the comics), which would make sense as she's currently the only major established transwoman Marvel Comics character.
Could she be introduced as Valkyrie's queen in
Thor: Love and Thunder? That's pure speculation, but it's as good a guess as any!
