We got our first taste of what Taika Waititi's take on Thor: Ragnarok would look like with the release of two short movies. Those were hilarious and revolved around what happened when the God of Thunder moved in with a guy called Daryl. Are they canon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Probably not but another is in the works and will likely be included on the eventual Blu-ray release of the threequel.
Talking about what might come next for The Grandmaster during a recent interview, Jeff Goldblum revealed that we'll see him return in a short movie where he too winds up moving in with poor Daryl.
"So what happens? Well, I could go anywhere – I might knock on your door, and say hello. Guess who’s here? I shot a thing with Taika, where there’s a roommate in Australia. I show up at his, and I do knock on his door. And I take up residence in the little flat, as they say here. That’s what I do. And order things from the takeaway restaurant. Buy all the local foods." That. Sounds. AWESOME.
It's possible this is going to be released online but with Thor: Ragnarok not in US theaters yet, we probably have quite some time to wait until this debuts. Either way, it should be a lot of fun, especially if it delivers the same sort of improvised humour which makes the threequel so great. Are you guys excited to see this short movie? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the usual place.
