BOX OFFICE: TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION Nears $900M; Will Be 2014's First To Hit $1B

Transformers: Age of Extinction is now nearing $900 million at the worldwide box office after just one month of release, and that means it has already earned more than the first two instalments in the franchise! That puts it on course to be the first 2014 movie to hit $1 billion...

Love it or hate it, the Transformers franchise won't be going anywhere anytime soon. After just four weeks of release, Transformers: Age of Extinction has become the first film of 2014 to hit the $800 million mark globally and is just days away from hitting $900 million. Its current worldwide cume is $886.3 million. That's more than Transformers ($709 million) and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen ($836 million). Will it top Tranformers: Dark of the Moon? ($1.12 billion)

That's harder to predict, but it will most definitely hit $1 billion in the coming weeks, so it wouldn't be too surprising if it did! The fourth instalment in the Michael Bay helmed franchise did well despite the World Cup distracting moviegoers, and it now holds a number of new records, including being vital box office territory China's highest grossing movie of all-time. How many times have you guys seen the movie?

I instantly dislike anybody who posts Transformers news. I think we're all a little smarter than to give AF about senseless action.

I hope michael bay does Transformers 5 and totally [frick]s it up and it gets a 1% rating on Rotten Tomatoes as there always is some bitch of a reviewer who likes Transformers. Then i hope that the damned foolish, naive, gullible, pathetic audience go see it again and again and it makes 2 billion dollars.

After making the mistake to see it right before my birthday, I have decided not to see anything related to Bay ever again. Even the action was boring this time and the action was the only thing that kept these films entertaining.

Just saw Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, and the theater was completely empty aside from just a few people here and there (two of them being a nice older couple). THAT movie was much better than Trans4mers could ever hope to be.

Transformers is a HUGE Franchise with a HUGE Title. When any casual film fan thinks of Blockbuster then you can bet that the name Transformers is in the mix. Not only that but Michael Bay is an Action-Director who relies on the visceral. The guy can care less about a screenplay.. Just give him a simple premise and a 300 million dollar budget and you get T4. Like it or not these films own the Box Office for a reason LOL.

Just because a movie makes over a billion doesn't mean it's good. For instance, look at Titanic.
