As you can see below, Transformers: The Last Knight director Michael Bay has confirmed that a 30 second Super Bowl TV spot for the movie will be released tomorrow. However, while you may think that Paramount Pictures is jumping the gun showing it off before Sunday, it's also been revealed that an extended 55-second version is going to follow over the weekend featuring even more new footage.

That's not all, though, as the movie's Facebook page has today released the first official synopsis!

The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).

That confirms a lot of what we thought we knew about Transformers: The Last Knight based on rumours and the first trailer, though most of us probably wouldn't have guessed that Laura Haddock is playing a professor! What do you guys think of these latest details? Let us know in the usual place.

There was a time, somewhere after the first film and before the writers' strike, that I thought we might have the chance to see Unicron and that whole saga play itself out. I was readily excited for it. The first Transformers wasn't good, but it showed the promise the franchise had as a whole. I have no idea what happened. I have the feeling, even if we see Unicron, it won't be treated as well as diehard fans of the franchise wish. Still, The Last Knight will probably manage to gross over a billion dollars, despite (most likely) being a terrible film.
