Transformers: Rise of the Beasts finally managed to crawl past the $400 million mark at the worldwide box office this weekend, though it now looks like the movie's time in theaters is already starting to wind down.

That's something of a shock considering the summer is far from over, but the movie has failed to make the same sort of financial impact as its predecessors. It will also soon face further competition from Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One, Barbie, and Oppenheimer, possibly helping to explain this news.

Paramount Pictures has confirmed (via SFFGazette.com) that Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will be available to buy or rent on Digital from Paramount Home Entertainment starting tomorrow, July 11.

A 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD release will then follow on October 10.

Here's a full list of special features:

  • Human Affairs — In a world of robots, machines, and aliens, we explore the humans who help save the world.
  • Life in the 90s — The filmmakers discuss how the music, set design, fashion, and cultural references transport viewers to New York in the 90s.
  • Heroes — Get an inside look at the inspiration and thought process behind designing the Autobots and the Maximals.
  • Villains —Watch as the filmmakers bring the Terrorcons and Predacons to life.
  • The Chase — Meet Mirage, a new Autobot that converts into a 1993 Porsche, and experience the adrenaline-filled car chase through New York City.
  • The Battle of Ellis Island — Join the cast and crew as they go behind-the-scenes of the epic battle sequence between the Autobots and the Terrorcons at the museum.
  • Into the Jungle — The Transformers franchise has been filmed all over the globe. This time, join the cast and crew as they explore the new and exotic location of Peru.
  • The Switchback Attack — Witness the wild, intense driving sequences filmed on location in Peru where the Autobots fight the Terrorcons through a town square and into the mountains 15,000 feet up.
  • The Final Conflict — Get a behind-the-scenes look at the film’s epic climax. Watch as the Autobots, Maximals, Noah, and Elena attempt to save the world.
  • Extended/Deleted Scenes — Includes an alternate opening and ending to the film!

That's a great selection of featurettes, and we're particularly intrigued by the mention of an alternate ending seeing as the movie's big G.I. Joe tease was originally envisioned as a post-credits scene.

In Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Optimus Prime and the Autobots take on their biggest challenge yet!  When a new threat capable of destroying the entire planet emerges, they must team up with a powerful faction known as the Maximals. With the fate of humanity hanging in the balance, Noah (Anthony Ramos) and Elena (Dominique Fishback) will do whatever it takes to help the Transformers as they engage in the ultimate battle to save Earth.

I enjoyed the movie but it wasn’t cinematic at all.

Watching at home would definitely be the better experience.

Just another one of these stupid toy commercial movies.

I understand nostalgia and that a lot of you played with these toys, & I'm glad you enjoyed them, but these movies are just bad.

@DocSpock - it was better than Flash, actually

@ThorArms -

I believe that.

The TF movie had some things that a lot of people remember from their childhoods and care about.

The Flash had a character that a lot of people care about, which made it really hurt because it just sucked.

@Matador -

Okay. TF & Star Wars & the attendant toys didn't exist when I was a kid. I never had a G.I. Joe or such.

What is G1?

@DocSpock - Transformers based on Generation 1 story line based from the 80's; I don't collect those retro toys though.

GI Joe in the 80's were much more broader in terms of gameplay as 3'75 inch figures but the main gimmick were the vehicles plus I had more fun building the vehicles than actually playing with them. They were more like models that you'd have to put together piece by piece.

Currently Hasbro has veered off the 3"75 inch figures and is creating 6 inch figs. way to costly and bigger can't imagine vehicles being used with that toy line and expensive price to boot.

I wasn't into Star Wars but the vehicles were almost the same to built to play scope.

The movie was not good. Though, the hispanic guys character was better than Labeouf, wahlberg, and steinfelds, characters.

Bumblebee was a step in the direction I want Transformers to go in, and while this film didn't quite get to Bumblebee's level it was still a lot better than any of the Michael Bay films. And the tease at the end was quite fun - if they can maintain a decent level of quality and fun then I think what was teased can be great (like Fast and Furious great, ya know what I mean?)

Hmm. Most of my toys in the 60s were sports related.

I did have a bag of small plastic army men.(100 to a bag for 50 cents). We'd put them everywhere and pick em off with homemade rubber band guns. Or blow em up with firecrackers when we could get them.

I did make a lot of model tanks/planes/classic cars & paint them with my Dad. I guess that was kind of like people building Star Wars & Leggo things in later decades.
