RICK AND MORTY Interview: Snowball Voice Actor Rob Paulsen Delves Into The Deeper Meaning Of LAWNMOWER DOG

Even though there isn't a set premiere date for Rick and Morty Season 5, Adult Swim recently released the complete collection of Seasons 1-4 on blu-ray to help tide fans over. In addition to the 41 22-minute episodes, the Blu-ray also includes bonus features from each season, such as Creating Snake Jazz, Deleted Scenes, and commentary and animatics for every episode.

While waiting for Adult Swim to release Season 5 (hopefully this year), we spoke with Rob Paulsen, the voice actor behind several characters in Rick And Morty. These include Regular Legs and the Giant Judge, but most notably Snowball from the second episode of Season 1, Lawnmower Dog.

Despite Paulsen's notoriety as a voice actor for characters such as Yakko and Pinky from Animaniacs, Max from Mighty Max, Raphael and Donatello from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Carl Wheezer from Jimmy Neutron, and Reuben from Lilo and Stitch, he insists that one of his most popular characters remains Rick and Morty's Snowball. When we spoke with him, he also dove into the intricacy of the episode Lawnmower Dog and its parallels within society. He also talks about what it's like working with Justin Roiland behind the scenes.

You can hear Rob's thoughts on Snowball around the 37-minute mark in our chat below. Rob uses the voices of Snowball, both turtles, and many of his other characters throughout the exclusive interview. Be sure to let us know what you think in the usual spot!

*This interview has been edited for clarity.*

Rick and Morty Season 5 is expected to premiere sometime in 2021.
