Deadline is reporting that Jackie Earle Haley has been cast as the main antagonist in the upcoming Amazon pilot for The Tick playing villain ‘The Terror’. Comic book fans would know Haley best for his unforgettable turn as Rorschach in “The Watchmen”, or as ‘Freddy Kruger’ in the 2010 remake of Nightmare On Elm St.

Very few Amazon pilots have actually made it to series but fans of The Tick will be hoping they get more than just a pilot out of this; with top shelf acting talent like Haley joining Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy) as the titular hero, the odds seem to be looking better and better that this pilot will be strong enough to go to full series.

Haley is also reportedly in negotiations for the role of ‘Richard Sayre’ in the upcoming film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower. If confirmed, he will join Idris Elba (Thor: The Dark World) and Matthew McConaughey in what’s being described as a ‘co-starring role’.
