THE TICK Is Coming Back To TV As An Amazon-Exclusive Series

The Tick is coming back to live-action television as Amazon has just given the green-light for a pilot. However, the new show won't feature Patrick Warburton as the big, blue oblivious superhero.

The Tick is coming back to TV as Amazon has made a commitment for a pilot episode of a brand-new, live-action show.  Sadly, Patrick Warburton will not be reprising his role as the titular hero (due to his commitment on another TV show) although he will serve as an executive producer.  According to Deadline---

In the new incarnation, the blue suit-wearing Tick is recovering from a memory loss. He ends up re-teaming with Arthur to fight evil. Newman’s Arthur, played in the Fox series by David Burke, had been labeled as a schizophrenic because of his statements that evil plans to rule the city, and no one believes him until he runs into Tick. Curry’s Dot Everest is a nurse who loves her brother Arthur to death and worries about him.

While we don't know who will be playing the Tick, Griffin Newman has been cast as Aruthur. Valorie Curry will play Arthur's sister, Dot.Who do you think would be a good replacement for Warburton? Make your suggestion in the comment section below and keep the discussion going.

still debating what was better the live action one or the cartoon... it's a tuff call
Baf - 3/11/2016, 7:12 AM
@theusualsuspect - id say the cartoon. The live action was not given enough time to hit its stride.
BabyGroot - 3/11/2016, 7:36 AM
@theusualsuspect - i'd say the cartoon too, because there's so much that they got away with, without the costliness of CGI.

@theusualsuspect - The cartoon for sure. I loved the live action version, but there was no way that they were going to be able to pull some of the things off live like they did in the cartoon. Also, as much as I love Warburton, Townsend Coleman will always be the definitive Tick for me.

Yeah Warbuton is made for this role!
JoeMomma29 - 3/11/2016, 6:42 AM
But John Ham would be a great pick!

Cool news never saw the original Tick show but heard it was good. Patrick Warbuton is a great actor. hope he plays Captain Marvel/Shazam I always liked that idea

I liked the cartoon, but the live action show rarely had action, and Warburton didn't have the same energy I enjoyed from the animated series. They needed goofy villains to fight instead of committing petty crimes themselves. And give tick his mask, dammit

I like Puddy as the Tick. Too bad they are recasting. Not sure who I would want for Tick that would do it. I like the idea of the rock or some big ass wrestler who has some acting skills.. As long as John Cena doesn't act like John Cena he could fit the part.

Really? Yet another unnecessary reboot? Dear Hollywood, this shits gotta stop whatever happened too an origional idea?
pestulio07 - 3/11/2016, 7:00 AM
@KillEmAll - It isn't a reboot, its a continuation. And honestly one that I'd be totally okay with if they didn't recast.
KillEmAll - 3/11/2016, 7:33 AM
@pestulio07 - well at any rate enough is enough.
