The Walking Dead premieres this October on AMC; it is based on the Eisner Award winning comic series by Robert Kirkman. The story chronicles the travels of Rick Grimes, a small-town police officer from Cynthiana, Kentucky, his family, and a number of other survivors who have banded together in order to survive after the world is overrun with zombies. As the series progresses, the characters become more developed, and their personalities shift under the stress of a zombie apocalypse; most notably Rick's.
While we are still waiting for the official footage to be released by AMC, here's a better video taken by a Con attendee of the series footage that many considered to be one of the highlights of the convention. The series pilot's director, Frank Derabont, stated at the panel that the
'footage shown was toned down for Comic Con, since it is considered a family convention. The series will have plenty of gore to satisfy hardcore zombie fans.'
The Walking Dead stars Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, Sarah Wayne Callies as Lori, Chandler Riggs as Carl Grimes, Jon Bernthal as Shane Walsh, Steven Yeun as Glenn, Laurie Holden as Andrea, Iron E Singleton as T-Dog, and Jeffrey DeMunn as Dale.
