On last week's episode of
The Walking Dead, King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) faced near certain doom, as we at one point saw him at the business end of a Savior's pistol after he had been taken hostage. But out of nowhere his most trusted steward and personal bodyguard, Jerry (Cooper Andrews), snuck up on the attacker from behind and quite literally chopped him in half the long way. In the history of exterminating threats with extreme prejudice, it was a sight to behold.
Swinging an axe with that perfect balance of power and precision doesn't happen overnight though. It takes much practice, as Anderson recently decided to show us.
Andrews took to his Instagram page to share a video of him in an axe training session for the show. You can see the excitement all over his face as he swings the axe with Viking expertise. How does one get so skilled? His caption serves as instructions for all you aspiring axe warriors:
"Jerry's workout: swing something heavy for a minute then load up on five sets of breakfast cobbler," Andrews writes with the post.
