Fans of AMC's zombie drama series
The Walking Dead were upset when Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes left the show - but in the same night it was announced that the actor would reprise the character in his own film - and possibly a whole trilogy.
In addition to that, Danai Gurira's Michonne is leaving the show this season and is also expected to potentially have a part to play in at least one of these films - even though that bit is just a rumor at this time. Recently the actor who played The Governor, David Morrissey, also said that he would like to return - whether it be in flashback form or in a film of his own based on The Governor novel series by Robert Kirkman.
On top of all of that, the main show has hit its magical tenth season and doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon, the initial spin-off -

As if that wasn't enough for the franchise to handle - Negan actor has weighed in expressing just how much he wants to portray his famous foul-mouthed villain in a film to show his backstory, as chronicled by Robert Kirkman's Here's Negan. The following was Morgan's comment he made on Twitter in regards to the subject.
“I have my own thing for POSSIBLE films. I’m still holding out for Negan story... based on [Robert Kirkman’s] graphic novel. I’d LOVE to film that. LOVE LOVE LOVE.”

The Walking Dead will return on February 23, 2020, on AMC.
