A number of big name actors are currently being eyed for pilot season and The Walking Dead's Lauren Cohan is among them! She plays Maggie in the hit series which has been surrounded in controversy since the midseason finale featured the stage being set for the shocking demise of Carl Grimes, a fan-favourite character. So, why is Cohan currently mulling over leaving the comic book TV series?
Well, her contract is up at the end of The Walking Dead's current eighth season and it's said that she's been seeking a pay increase which will mean she makes the same as male co-stars Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus. They're paid significantly more than everyone else but AMC refused that and offered only a minor raise for a lengthy new contract which the actress understandably ended up rejecting.
However, that's standard practice in talks like these and even this story could be used as a way of Cohan scoring a huge new contract. The cable network followed that up with another offer but there have been no further discussions between the two and she's since been entertaining a lot of new offers and taking meetings. After all, she's not going to say no to a lead role and whopping pay rise. We'll just have to wait and see, of course, but don't be surprised if Maggie meets her maker...
