The Doctor Who Christmas special has just finished airing in the US, and it has been officially announced that Jenna Coleman's Clara will be back for another season of the hit BBC drama. UK fans who watched "Last Christmas" much earlier today had figured out that she would return, but the British actress announced the "wonderful" news following the BBC America broadcast. She's played Clara since 2012, and says: "I get a whole other [season] of stories with the Doctor and I couldn't walk away with the story being unresolved. There is so much more to do. I think they've finally just reached a point where they really understand each other.  The arrival of the 12th Doctor has just kind of dropped this whole bombshell and allowed the dynamic to totally change, so I think just when Clara was feeling more comfortable in the relationship, it has suddenly thrown something new up." Any CBM roles you think Coleman would be well-suited to?

Jenna Coleman is the perfect woman and I am in love with her.

She is by far the most interesting companion Who has ever had (IMO)

Peter Capaldi has been a revalation as The Doctor this series too.

The relationship between this Doctor and Clara is brilliant. Let the haters' tears flow.

Although I highly doubt Doctor Who is bigger in the US than it is in the UK. It's almost TOO big over there.

Could we please leave Davies behind? I know Moffat hasn't been the best showrunner to ask for but he's done A LOT for the show, far beyond story-telling.

Me and my family just watched The Man in the Yellow Suit episode from the Flash....because it takes place during Christmas.

Now we're going to watch The Interview via XBox Live because f*ck Kimmy Jong Un!!!.....and also because it's cheaper than going to one of the many theaters playing it here in California.

I thought the DW Christmas special was very good, one of the better ones. The dynamic between Jenna Colemans' Clara Oswald and Peter Capaldi's Doctor is much better than with Matt Smith's Doctor. This series has been a great improvement over the last one with some very funny dialogue. I'm very happy that she's stayed for another season.

It does make me wonder what politics were going on in the studio for the BBC to announce earlier this year that she would be leaving.

Earlier this year I more or less marathoned through Doctor Who in afew weeks, from the start of Ecclestone's 9th Doctor all the way to the beginning of Capaldi's 12th. After that I stopped, haven't seen more than the first 4 or so episodes with the 12th. Mabye I had too much Doctor in too short a span of time. I liked Clara and Capaldi, though.

After four seasons each, Davies > Moffat. That said, this last season has easily been Moffat's best, and Clara's become my favourite companion since Rose.

I love Clara, but she was more fun with the last Doctor, but then again the 11th Doctor was more fun anyway. I won't miss Danny Pink though.
