Sarah Michelle Gellar Is Open To Return As BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER

With a Kickstarter campaign breathing life into a Veronica Mars movie, is there hope for a Buffy revival too? The star of Joss Whedon's sporadically brilliant tv show, Sarah Michelle Gellar, is definitely up for it..under the right circumstances.

Is there any hope for big-screen Buffy? Joss Whedon's ground breaking tv series was one of those love it or hate it kind of shows..but its legions of fans REALLY loved it. The series actually started out as a movie, but was generally seen as a bit of turkey (it's actually not that bad really) so Whedon and co. really took a chance on the spin-off tv series -- would going back to film be a wise move? Buffy Summers herself Sarah Michelle Gellar reckons that with the "right story", it just might be.

“Joss [Whedon] and I always talk about [a movie]. But the thing with Buffy is that Buffy was a movie, and it ultimately didn’t work as a film. And I mean, we had such miles to overcome when we were trying to do a TV show based on a movie. And one of the reasons is that the story works better over time. If there was ever the right story, we would do it. At this point, the stake would be my walker and I would be hobbling in."

There has been talk of rebooting Buffy without Gellar (only 36 by the way) or Whedon's involvement, but thankfully those plans seem to have been scrapped for the time being. Would you guys like to see Buffy back with a stake in her hand? Or has the time passed for a big screen outing? Sound off below.
