San Diego Comic-Con is in full swing, but fans don’t have to wait until the show’s panel this Saturday to learn more about the final season of
Arrow, as it’s been confirmed that actor Ben Lewis has been upped to a series regular.
Like his co-star Katherine McNamara, who was also
promoted to a series regular, Lewis joined The CW drama to portray one of Oliver Queen's children in a number of flash-forward scenes that gave viewers a look at Star City in the year 2049.
While there currently aren’t a lot of details on how Lewis’ character will factor into the upcoming season, the expanded roles of Mia Smoak and William Clayton strongly suggest the 2049 storyline will play a significant part in the show's conclusion.
The eighth season of
Arrow is currently scheduled to premiere on October 15, 2019 and will see Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Juliana Harkavy, and Rick Gonzalez return to reprise their respective roles.
