ARROW: Character Description For Season 3's Big Bad - 'Ra's Al Ghul'

A detailed character casting description from Season 3 of Batman-lite aka Arrow has been uncovered revealing details about this upcoming season's big bad, Ra's al Ghul, and from the looks of it, we might see him much sooner than we initially thought. Come check it out!

CW's Arrow has already given us the Dark Archer (John Barrowman) and Deathstroke (Manu Bennett) as major villains for Season 1 and Season 2 respectively and next season the stakes get even higher when Ra's al Ghul comes to town.

You may want to take this news with a grain of salt, but a detailed character description for the casting of the iconic character has been posted on Reddit revealing a few key details of what we might be able to expect to see in the fall. The description is said to come from a breakdown of Episode 4, which is currently shooting and was revealed to be titled "The Magician" a few short days ago. Even though it's a bit of a stretch, could the Demon's Head be the aforementioned magician? You can check out his character description below:

Should we expect someone similiar to Tom Hardy's Bane? This episode will be the show's 50th, so having Ra's al Ghul appear to commemorate the occasion seems plausible. What do you guys think? It's obviously a good move for the show, but is Arrow becoming more and more like Batman-lite? Sound off with your thoughts below!

In the aftermath of this victory, Season 3 opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen — not as long as the city needs The Arrow.

Arrow features:
Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Arrow
Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak
David Ramsey as John Diggle
Willa Holland as Thea Queen
Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance
Colton Haynes as Roy Harper/Arsenal
Paul Blackthorne as Detective Quentin Lance
John Barrowman as Malcolm Merlyn/Dark Archer
Manu Bennett as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke
Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/Canary
Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/Atom

Arrow returns October 8.

Arrow IS becoming Batman-lite!!! I love it but it's like it doesn't have it's own identity anymore. Utilizing Barman mythology like crazy. If a Batman show eer arises showcasing Batman, it'd be like damn AROOW using our world. Ra''s is strictly a Batman adversary I'm sorry. I think they'll do him justice on Arrow but it's starting to get tiresome..Batman references. The Arrow new 52 run proves tht Arrow and his mythology work well and are entertaining all on it's own

The series in my opinion will always be Batman like but Batman is DC's bread and butter and it they can use his outline and other things in their property, the whole grounded, dark, brooding, etc. type hero and have his villains why not use it

I don't mind the inclusion of minor Batman villains like Firefly but they're taking too far with Ra's. GA has some decent villains they haven't utilised, this is kind of disappointing.

If we can't get Oded Fehr, Naveen Andrews would be good.

How could you be disappointed if almost a fourth of Green Arrow's villains are from Batman's rouges gallery?...Ra's Al Ghul and the League of Assassins are part of Green Arrow's rouges gallery too..if you guys didn't know.

Why would you think Bane and not Ra's in Batman Begins?

Clip of Naveen Andrews as Jafar from Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, didn't watch much of the show but he made a pretty good villain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLYjDQlzE_Y

Arrow has never had or even attempted to have it's own feel or unique style. It's basically nothing but a plagiarist TV show that steals every plotline, character, situation from Nolan's movies and other Batman mythos.

Arrow is like a traced drawing or some kid cheating on a test. It is a culmination of ideas stolen from others.

It is the only comic book based TV show in history with no style of it's own.

they probably put think Bane cause Bane had a more terrifying presence in TDKR than Ra's in Begins.

Ra's Al Ghul and Green Arrow have never fought.

Yeah, they plagiarised the romance, teen drama and awkward humour perfectly.

It makes sense to mention Bane because he felt like far more of a threat than Ra's in Batman Begins. Begins was more focused on Batman, whereas the sequels were great at establishing villains.

Yes, Arrow is the only comic book show that is "unoriginal"...

Isn't Ra pretty much a world evil force? I'm not seeing the issue with him being the big bad. Even fits pretty damn perfectly with the storyline they set up.

Ra's isn't exclusively Batman's bad guy - I mean he kind of wants to purge mankind.

In fact, if you look a the comics, you'll see that a few Batman villains didn't start out in Batman's pages - like Clock King or Shiva, but appeared in the cartoons as such. Merlyn, in fact, got his start trying to kill Batman, but Green Arrow stopped him. Deadshot was a Bat-villain before becoming a full-fledged character appearing in a starring capacity in Suicide Squad. A lot of these guys are interchangeable, and considering the Bat-embargo going on, I think we should be happy we're getting what we're getting.
DCGuy
DCGuy - 8/16/2014, 11:08 AM
Ra's has attacked the entire world and like I said has even gone Vs the entire league and Vs Superman

Deathstroke is NOT a batman bad guy at the most he should be a teen Titans bad guy if we start taking it like that.

Arrow has 2 Count vertigo's, Sharpnel, Deadshot, Bronze Tiger, Dark Archer, Clock king and more...

Funny how @Klone now does not want white people in shows...I forgot about how everyone is black in comics?

oh right Klone is a racist that said that the JL team should not include Cyborg because diversity of race is not a factor that applies to a hero
