ARROW: Kyra Zagorsky Cast As Former League Of Assassins Member!
Team Arrow might be facing yet another threat this season they do not know about. The league member will look to maintain the legacy of Malcolm Merlyn.
Most recently, Arrow has yet another addition cast to its season six roster. According to TVLine, Kyra Zagorsky will be playing Athena who is a former member of the League of Assassins. The actress is mostly known for her roles on Helix, The 100, Continuum, and Supernatural.
The character description for Athena has also been revealed:
"Bearing a scar across her face as an example of her fearlessness and determination, Athena aims to maintain the legacy of Malcolm Merlyn, her fallen commander - and thus sees anyone who was once associated with him as a potential threat."
This could be an interesting challenge for Team Arrow if done correctly, and it sounds like it could be tied to the anticipated return of Nyssa Al Ghul.
"In an unforgettable episode that will change Arrow forever, Katrina Law returns as the Daughter of the Demon, Nyssa Al Ghul", both executive produces Wendy Mericle and Marc Guggenheim stated. "Nyssa comes to Star City to warn of an impending danger that will threaten everything we know and love."
It seems unlikely that Athena's arrival will tie to this seasons main narrative but according to Guggenheim, the situation surrounding this seasons main villain play out in an unexpected way.
"I think it's going to unfold in a way that will really surprise people," Guggenheim informed ComicBook.com. "I actually expect it to be controversial because we're doing something so different than what we've done in past years. There's one particular hard right turn that we've got up our sleeves that we've never done before. So I'll be curious to see what people think of it."
