ARROW Producers Had "Big Plans" For 'Harley Quinn' Before SUICIDE SQUAD Ruined Them
Most fans agree that season three of Arrow was missing something, but could that something have been Harley Quinn? Talking at MCM London today, Willa Holland revealed that the show's producers had big plans for her before being ordered to scrap them by Warner Bros.!
While Arrow often comes under fire for borrowing too many elements and characters from Batman's corner of the DC Universe, Harley Quinn's surprise (and extremely brief) cameo in the show's stellar second season was still one of the most exciting and intriguing moments in its run.
Unfortunately, that would amount to nothing, as Margot Robbie being cast as the character in David Ayer's Suicide Squad movie left both Harley and Task Force X off limits to The CW series.
Talking at the MCM London (via Spoiler TV) comic book convention today, WIlla Holland (Thea Queen/Speedy) had this to say about the original plans for Harley Quinn in Arrow. "We had big plans for Harley. But, I guess something came down from DC execs that told us to shut it down," the actress revealed to disappointed fans. "I mean we had that tease with the pigtails and the ARGUS outfit but, we’ll never see it. We would love to Harley in Arrow but it will never happen."
Those comments take the villain off the table for good then, but it's hard not to wonder what those "big plans" might have involved. Seeing Harley cause chaos in Starling City would have been quite something, don't you think? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on this below.
