It Sounds Like We Can Once Again Forget About Seeing Deathstroke In ARROW - Here's Why!

The last time we saw Slade Wilson, he was going to deal with his son but thanks to Warner Bros., we can forget about any sort of resolution as the character has again been banned from TV by the studio.

The DC TV shows are in a weird position where those working on the show are forced not to use certain characters depending on what they're up to on the big screen. It makes zero sense when you consider the fact two versions of The Flash are running around but it's just the way things go and Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim has confirmed we can forget about seeing Deathstroke return.

That's despite the fact Slade Wilson has made a number of appearances in season six and it seems we'll never learn what happens next with his crazy son, Joe. "These are DC's characters, we're just renting them ya know, so we use the characters that they tell us we can use when we can use them, and we work around whatever limitations that places us," explains in the video interview below.

"For a time they were saying 'you can't use Deathstroke', and that changed and we were able to have Slade Wilson back on the show, and now we're back to 'you can't use him'." So, why the change? It's down to the movies, obviously. "They're working on the feature film version, it really is sort of now that you've got obviously Slade, spoiler alert, Deathstroke appears at the end of the Justice League movie." Are you disappointed that we've seen the last of Manu Bennett's Deathstroke?

It's just the dumbest crap that WB does to get in its own way. Remember when Justice League CARTOON had to stop using Batman characters because of the Nolan films? WB just does the absolute dumbest freakin' crap.

@BackwardGalaxy - I know, this garbage pisses me off.

I'm not really watching Arrow anymore because of reasons I don't want to get into anymore, but it still has amazing aspects to it despite its drop in quality (and the bad that outweighs good for me (hence why I dropped it)). However, Deathstroke was one of the many good things for it.

WB is really dumb when it comes to DC. I mean, yeah they want to focus on the movies, and might not want to confuse the GA (although, I don't fully buy this argument... I think GA is smarter than WB gives them credit), but they are really doing the fans a disservice (and to an extent themselves).

I mean, could you imagine the amazing Batman/Superman shows we could have gotten if that had eased up on this BS ruling? Or didn't even have it in the first place? It's really disheartening if you think about it.

Plus it really bothers me as someone who gave up on the DCEU because of how trash that movieverse has been from inception to now (especially now). If I hadn't stopped watching the films, then this news would have been enough to make me want to boycott any future DCEU films. Hell, even if they do a total reboot (something that I've been begging for), I might not watch a future DC film because of how dumb WB is being with DC.

I mean, yeah, Marvel isn't much better (for the most part), but at least they can use the argument of "this is all in one universe" and some movie characters have crossed over (and back) from the movies to shows.

WB just sucks when it comes to their DC properties, and this is just further proof of that =/

This is why DC will lag behind Marvel. And I’m someone who likes DC more.

Y’know I already thought the character embargo thing was lame a few years ago. But I thought I understood it like most fans I assumed the movies were going the blow away the shows in terms of quality. Keeping certain characters off limits so the CW doesn’t ruin their images before they show up on film. But heading into 2018, where most of the DCEU films are panned by critics and the first Justice League did a shit job at the box office.... it’s clear which dc universe is doing the most damage to the brand. Just let the Arrpwverse keep their toys.

That’s so buzzare to me. It would be like not letting characters appear in the comics if their gonna be in movies.

It's not like anyone confuses CW Flash for movie Flash. This reasoning doesn't hold up anymore.
