New Producer's Preview For ARROW Showcases Katie Cassidy As Black Canary
Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim previews Wednesday's all new episode of Arrow, titled Midnight City. Will Laurel (Katie Cassidy) make a smooth transition to the Black Canary mantle? "If you're a Laurel Lance/Black Canary fan, this episode is going to make you insanely happy."
Here's what producer Marc Guggenheim had to share on next week's new Arrow episode, "Midnight City":
"If you're a Laurel Lance/Black Canary fan, this episode is going to make you insanely happy. This is our first episode with "Black Canary" [note: Sara was only called Canary] in full view. It's a pretty significant step in the life of the series. The interesting thing about Laurel being a superhero is that she hasn't had nearly as much training as everyone else who wears a mask on our show. Her experiences are really going to prove that 'a mask, does not a hero make.' Even though she's dressing up as the Black Canary, she's still a longs ways away from being a proficient fighter. Watching the stumbles, the missteps, and the little triumphs along the way - I think that's what makes the character's journey and development compelling. Team Arrow has to deal with the rising threat of Danny Brickwell, probably the most vicious mobster we've ever had on the show. He's going to essentially take the city hostage."
