New Producer's Preview For ARROW Showcases Katie Cassidy As Black Canary

I haven't caught up with this season yet, but I was not a fan of Laurel Lance. I'm hoping this season really changes my mind.

There's no sex appeal with Laurel. She's too covered, tight black leather is not enough. Sara will always be the better Black Canary

They could easily utilize the canary cry "balls" (lol) technology and build it into a collar she wears eventually...or just find another means to give her the cry down the line. But I do think sonic collar of sorts around her neck would have a similar effect

1) Laurel has yet to truly become the BLACK Canary
2) Sara was the adaptation of Dinah Drake Lance...the mantle was supposed to be passed
3) Laurel is supposed to be highly emotional...especially until this point:
-Her boyfriend cheats on her with her sister - Emotional destruction
-Her ex.boyfriend and sister than die - emotional destruction
-Her father turns to drinking because her sister "died" - emotional destruction
-Her mother leaves her father because of her drinking - emotional destruction
-4+ years of pain and emotional torture
- Her ex.boyfriend who she blames for the death of her sister returns from the dead - emotional torture
-She "finds" love and her lover is murdered - emotional torture
-her sister returns from the dead and negates the meaning being all of the bad in her life, father drinking, mother leaving...making it worse - emotional torture
-Turns to drugs and alcohol because of this torture
-Sister actually dies...emotional torture

She is annoying because she is emotionally destroyed .... JUST as Oliver is in Season 1 on the island....she is supposed to be just that...the complaints about Laurel are laughable...Katie Cassidy does a perfect job of displaying just that so calling it bad acting is hilarious. She has been through more than anyone with exception to Oliver on the show...

It is really sad people can watch this video and then say "how can she be black canary she has no training". Just because she puts on the suit does not mean she is a great fighter, people need to stop being so opposed to this

@Dandy if my comment is theoretical yours is just as theorietical...

But considering writers and producers have acknowledged her emotional changes via interviews and her turning to drugs my "theory" which is based soley on things that have occurered on the show...not random fan whims....holds more water overall. You all it "poor acting" and "irratible" when the character is supposed to be just that an emotional wreck...therefore Cassidy has handled it quite well. As for making an emotionally distraught character in a different way...i suggest you have something remotely bad occur in your own life before passing judgement on how someone who is depressed acts...

@Dandy...I was right there with you, cringing every time she came on the screen last season. But I must say, so far this season I think she's kind of killing it. I'm pleasantly surprised and happy to be proven wrong.

I really like the idea of a hero who is not well trained and learning by being tossed in the deep end. Especially since she doesn't have powers to rely on, which is usually the case in those scenarios.

And for everyone whining, this is a CW show. Stop expecting this to be HBO quality.

I miss Sara, and basically have nothing new to add about this Lawwrel situation, my attention/hope is on Flash now, speaking of which; does anyone have an idea who this new flash character might be: "Episode 18 will unleash on Central City a bee-a-utiful tech wizard who rocks oversized shades and red lipstick… and has devised a clever-slash-amoral-slash-wildly unstable scheme to weaponize bee-sized ‘bots."
