Season 2 of The Flash ended in a jaw-dropping fashion, with Barry deciding to travel back in time to stop the Reverse Flash from murdering his mother. Fans know that this led to the world-altering events of Flashpoint in the comic books, where Barry's actions created a timeline with apocalypse-level consequences. While the show hasn't explicitly confirmed an adaptation of Flashpoint for its third season, Barry's decision will no doubt result in some form of the story making its way to the small screen. But will this story cross over to the other CW shows? Arrow star Stephen Amell weighed in on the possibility of a "Flashpoint" event changing the Green Arrow's world for the shows upcoming fifth season. "I don't know," Amell told Comicbook.com in an interview. "I do know that we’ve done a lot of work on Arrow to introduce the other shows, for lack of a better term, and now that that’s all done, we’re focused on doing the things that we do well for Season 5."
Amell maintained that he'd like to see the show go back to basics for its fifth season. "Yes, that's exactly right. Arrow is at its best when we’re dealing with problems in Star City. We’re not a time-travel show, we’re not a multi-Earth show, though obviously [we do that] with crossovers and stuff like that. We’re Arrow, we deal with Star City, and I feel like we’ll be better off focusing on that." Given the incredibly poor reception to Arrow's season finale, it might be wise for the showrunners to consider Amell's wishes. However, it's hard to imagine The Flash not incorporating the other shows into its new plot somehow.
