After being brainwashed into believing that she's Black Mask's daughter, it looked like Kate Kane might finally don the cape and cowl again in last night's episode of Batwoman.
However, Kate has been completely broken and remains loyal to her "father." As a result, she betrayed Ryan Wilder and the rest of the team when she stole weaponry belonging to The Joker, Clayface, Poison Ivy, and Killer Croc. Most devastating, however, was Kate's decision to take Venom once used by Bane that can now give Black Mask his own army of super soldiers.
At the end of the penultimate episode, Kate was shown cutting apart Ryan's Batsuit to create her own version that reminds us a lot of Red Hood. Now, it seems the former Scarlet Knight will become Batwoman's new big bad, but she'll have to take down both Kate and her new ally, Batwing.
He can be seen in the season two finale promo below, and he looks a little different to what we saw in the officially released images of the character shared by The CW earlier this month.
"In the Batwoman season finale, Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie) questions her place as the city’s hero as she, Luke Fox (Camrus Johnson), Mary Hamilton (Nicole Kang) and Sophie Moore (Meagan Tandy) must join forces when Black Mask (guest star Peter Outerbridge) instigates chaos in the Gotham streets," reads the synopsis. "Meanwhile, Alice’s attempt to rescue her sister means another encounter with Circe (guest star Wallis Day). In an epic standoff, unexpected alliances and transformations will upend Gotham as we know it."
