BATWOMAN: She's Definitely Not Batman In The New Promo For Season 1, Episode 3: "Down Down Down"

Batwoman's (Ruby Rose) story just got a whole lot more complicated, as she now finds herself up against both her long lost sister Beth Alice (Rachel Skarsten) and her seemingly evil stepmother Catherine Hamilton-Kane (Elizabeth Anweis), who did not seem particularly keen on letting Kate learn the truth about the DNA and her sister's disappearance.

Next week, Kate continues to serve and protect Gotham City as she works to stop Alice's latest plot. Meanwhile, she also gets a visit from an old friend, and it sounds like she'll have a big decision to make as she decides on whether she can live a dual life to fulfill her mission or if she'll just have to make the cape and cowl a full-time gig.

"Down Down Down" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LV) (HDTV)

GOODBYE TO THE BAT - As the city waits impatiently for another visit from who they think is Batman, Alice (Rachel Skarsten) continues to taunt Kate (Ruby Rose) with a secret but also sets her sights on Jacob (Dougray Scott) and Catherine (Elizabeth Anweis). Kate is visited by Tommy Elliot (guest star Gabriel Mann), a childhood friend of her cousin who has finally realized his lifelong dream of being wealthier than Bruce Wayne and throws a party so all of Gotham can celebrate his success. Mary (Nicole Kang) gets an unexpected new bestie when Sophie (Meagan Tandy) is assigned to protect her. Luke (Camrus Johnson) and Kate work together to uncover who may have taken a valuable weapon from Batman's arsenal. And as Batwoman faces a new enemy, Kate realizes she must either walk away from her new role or fully embrace the mantle as Gotham's new hope. Dermott Downs directed the episode written by Holly Henderson and Don Whitehead (#103). Original airdate 10/20/2019. Every episode of BATWOMAN will be available to stream on CWTV.com and The CW App the day after broadcast for free and without a subscription, log-in or authentication required.

Kate Kane never planned to be Gotham's new vigilante. Three years after Batman mysteriously disappeared, Gotham is a city in despair. Without the Caped Crusader, the Gotham City Police Department was overrun and outgunned by criminal gangs. Enter Jacob Kane and his military-grade Crows Private Security, which now protects the city with omnipresent firepower and militia. Years before, Jacob's first wife and daughter were killed in the crossfire of Gotham crime. He sent his only surviving daughter, Kate Kane, away from Gotham for her safety. After a dishonorable discharge from military school and years of brutal survival training, Kate returns home when the Alice in Wonderland gang targets her father and his security firm, by kidnapping his best Crow officer Sophie Moore. Although remarried to wealthy socialite Catherine Hamilton-Kane, who bankrolls the Crows, Jacob is still struggling with the family he lost, while keeping Kate -- the daughter he still has -- at a distance. But Kate is a woman who's done asking for permission. In order to help her family and her city, she'll have to become the one thing her father loathes -- a dark knight vigilante. With the help of her compassionate stepsister, Mary, and the crafty Luke Fox, the son of Wayne Enterprises' tech guru Lucius Fox, Kate Kane continues the legacy of her missing cousin, Bruce Wayne, as Batwoman. Still holding a flame for her ex-girlfriend, Sophie, Kate uses everything in her power to combat the dark machinations of the psychotic Alice, who's always somewhere slipping between sane and insane. Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate soars through the shadowed streets of Gotham as Batwoman. But don't call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, she must first overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham's symbol of hope.

Hope The crows eventually become a Colony type organization and they adapt the James Tynion run of Detective Comics into the series, would love to see lessor known heroes like Azrael, Cassandra Cain and Spoiler, obviously we will eventually get Batwing.

@HeavyMetal4Life - True, hopefully that is the intention, and after the time jump, they will replace it with a mask that looks more like the elseworld one

I usually don't buy into the idea that most negative reviews for female led stuff is review bombing on rotten tomatoes, but wow did this change my mind. All the Arrowverse shows get a few hundred reviews at the most usually a mix of positive and negative reviews......seriously Batwoman is off to a decent start and after only 1 episode, its had thousands of negative reviews, while reviews from critics are mostly positive.

It's fine to not like a show, but geese some people need to get a life

@HeavyMetal4Life - Id say its somewhat believeable for a movie to get that much negative reviews, cause its just 1 complete story, but tv is long term story telling, no way that many people gave negative reviews after just 1 episode, especially compared to how many review all the other shows get

We learned something else in last nights episode which no mentioned. The computers come on line in the cave. I think that is Bruce Wayne's doing where ever he is. I find it hard to believe that he does not know what is going on in Gotham and what Katy is doing.

Man, they can't help but add cringe can they?

"Youre not, Batman."
"That's the Point?"

Seriously? Who writes this crap? Stop belittling men to empower women, its insulting and misogynistic.

Ruby says in an interview that this show isn’t for men so a huge number of men don’t watch it and then they’re called sexist for this show having the lowest rated premier in CWs history. 🤷‍♂️🤣🤣🤣
