Brandon Routh Returns As Clark Kent In Latest CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS Image

The fun behind-the-scenes photos from the set of The CW's Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event continue, and this time Brandon Routh has shared our first look at his returning Clark Kent.

We've already seen the Legends of Tomorrow actor in his Kingdom Come Superman duds, but here we get a glimpse of the attire he donned in Superman Returns as Kal El's civilian alter-ego. The photo also comes with a mild spoiler, as it looks like Kent will be Editor-In-Chief of the Daily Planet in this reality.

It might not necessarily be Routh's version of the character, however. We know that both Tyler Hoechlin and Tom Welling will also feature, and the caption accompanying Routh's photo could indicate that he's simply visiting one of the other Clarks.

Crisis on Infinite Earths kicks off on Sunday, Dec. 8 with Supergirl, before continuing with Monday's episode of Batwoman and Tuesday’s installment of The Flash. Then, after a month-long holiday break, the event concludes with the Jan. 14 episode of Arrow followed by a special installment of Legends of Tomorrow.

Very neat to see another pic of him back as the same Clark Kent from Superman Returns

@HeavyMetal4Life -
It's not confirmed to be the same universe as Superman Returns. All we know is that he's playing a variation of the Kingdom Come Superman.

He was a great Superman. Clark Kent? Not so.

@GeneralZod - tbf, they did hire him just because he looks so much like christopher reeves. He was basically just told to do a reeves impersonation.

I felt he did a good Christopher Reeves Clark Kent in Returns

I felt he did a good Christopher Reeves Clark Kent in Returns. He nailed the nerdy clumsy aspect and really looked like Reeves in many of those scenes. It was his Superman that was the weak link for me but that was likely due to the terrible plot and the writing..

@MuadDib - The only real problem with his portrayal in Superman Returns was that back then he (and Kate Bosworth) looked too young for the role. Especially when you had believe that he had already been Superman during the events of first two Reeve films and then spend years in space afterwards.

I still think the worse thing that WB did was make Reeves & Rouths Superman the same one. They should have just let Routh do his own thing and we could have potentiality gotten a great Superman trilogy as far back as the mid 2000s.
